JOB SUMMARY:

 The stakeholder specialist- corporate will be required to help execute Columbus’ communication programs with the goal of building and sustaining relationships intra-company as well as between the Company and its various publics and stakeholders. The position will be based in the successful candidate’s territory and the incumbent will be responsible for driving communications strategies to help increase awareness of the Columbus vision, goals and competitive advantages among all stakeholders.  The candidate must demonstrate a strong track record as a Communications Specialist with a mix of experience across in-house and stakeholder management.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Work with senior director- corporate communications to drive thought leadership, create awareness and guide relevant and compelling messaging around the company's rich pool of experts and thought leaders
  • Identifying and conducting communications audits of relevant advocacy and stakeholder groups to track communications action, performance and areas for improvement among units across the company
  • Research and develop communications to assist leadership with the development of special presentations; talking points, briefing materials, Q&A, speeches, announcements, and scripts for executive team
  • Ensuring materials on communications platforms (Websites, blogs etc.) are updated and relevant to reach our target audiences
  • Monitor and measure external communications tools to determine effectiveness and develop and maintain ongoing documentation of metrics
  • Support key communications outputs with relevant research
  • Effectively managing PR budget (raising PO’s, staying on budget, etc.
  • implementing outreach strategies and tactics, ensuring consistency with the companies’ overall communications goals and overarching business objectives to grow visibility, enhance reputation and build advocacy
  • Supporting the development of the global internal external communications strategy and key messages to ensure global consistency with regional implementation
  • Ensuring key policies and process are in place for effective stakeholder engagement and management, including media and Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) policies
  • Managing and coordinating the process for dissemination of messages to external stakeholder.  This should include articulating the relevant approval processes and consistent monitoring of these and similar outputs by the Company’s communications units to ensure consistency and adherence to guidelines, policies and processes
  • Managing and facilitating media and stakeholder engagement for the executive team. In conjunction with the Senior Director for Corporate Communications, responding to incoming media requests to the corporate office consistent to the Company’s communications strategy
  • Develop communications assets (media alerts, press releases, relationship tracking tools, briefing documents) enhance relationship key media, influencers & relevant stakeholders.  Ensure process policies that govern these are consistent with Communications units throughout the Company

MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS

 Essential:

  • Bachelor’s degree (Communication, Public Relations or related field preferred).  Minimum 3 to 5 years’ experience in a telecommunications environment.

 KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

  • Strong task coordination skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in written form
  • Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team, as well as work independently and with minimum supervision
  • Ability to organize and manage simultaneous projects with strong proof reading skills and attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community
  • Computer literate, with expert knowledge of Word, Excel and Power Point programs
  • Proficiency in audio, video and other graphic channels for effective communications
  • Ability to work efficiently with tight deadlines and in a fast paced environment
