SOLUTIONS ARCHITECT
Overview
The successful candidate will be responsible for design and development of innovative solutions. This includes articulating architectural vision, conceptualising and developing alternative approaches and validating against requirements and assumptions. The incumbent will be an intricate part of the RFP process who will work with clients and sales teams in an expert role within their area of expertise. This position reports to the Vice President – Application and Business Services, and will be based in Jamaica.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Conducting technical reviews of customers’ requirements and proposed solutions and approaches to determine fit with Fujitsu’s offerings, customer business needs and the technical viability of the solution and approach.
Identifying project delivery risks and mitigations for the proposed solutions and approaches.
Identifying the accuracy of the estimates for proposed solutions and approaches.
Shaping end-to-end technical proposals to be acceptable to the customer and recommending solution/ service trade-offs, where appropriate.
Leading and influencing others in the development of new solution and service offerings.
Researching, evaluating and selecting technology and infrastructure products for overall solutions. This includes:-
Analysing functionality and features
Assessing cost benefit factors and budgetary/ resource impacts
Impact/ risks to customer organisations, security and users
Investigating compatibility with the existing operating environment
Selecting products for evaluation criteria and recommending final selection
Assessing and evaluating emerging products and solutions and working with Fujitsu and its customers to ensure adherence with established standards, policies and guidelines.
Academic Qualifications
Bachelor Degree in Computer Science or Information Technology
Experience and Technical Skills
3 – 5 years related work experience in a progressive IT environment, preferably as an Architect.
Technical competence at an expert level in the following areas with current certifications :-
Network technology design and implementation
Security technology design and implementation
Storage Area Network design and implementation
Virtualisation technology design and implementation
Disaster Recovery design and implementation
Experience in a wide range of technology areas and all areas of the solution life cycle process
Key Attributes
In-depth knowledge of IT architectural theories, principles and concepts
Extensive and in-depth knowledge of the delivery of IT services and solutions
Practical business and industry knowledge of key vertical sectors, including Telecoms, Financial Services and Government
Knowledge of the IT managed services and outsourcing industry with strong technical leadership capabilities
Ability to coach, mentor and develop other team members
Well-developed communication skills (written and verbal) and consulting skills, particularly at senior customer levels.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify issues
Ability to multi-task, organise and prioritise assignments as required
High level of attention to detail and quality
Travel Requirements
Local travel requires that the candidate own and use his/her personal vehicle for site visits as may be required
Regional/ International travel may be required from time to time for training or customer site visits
