Site Manager
Our client, a multinational entity and a key player within the manufacturing and distribution sector, seeks to identify an individual with demonstrated experience in operational and technical leadership to serve as Site Manager for its Plant in Jamaica.
Profile of candidate
The successful candidate should be solutions-oriented with indepth understanding of plant operations including production, supply chain management and maintenance. Ideally, the candidate should possess:
- a background in chemical engineering;
- managerial experience within the manufacturing and distribution sector;
- a good understanding and appreciation of site safety standards and procedures;
- strong problem solving, technical and analytical skills;
- excellent organisational and negotiating skills;
- the ability to communicate effectively at all levels written and orally; and
- dynamic leadership, hands-on and results-oriented capabilities.
Core functions
Reporting directly to the Director of Operations (Florida Area), the Site Manager will have the responsibility for managing and coordinating the operational activities of the Plant while driving continuous improvement through customer relationship management and the coordination of key production and distribution activities at the company. Specifically, the successful candidate will be required to:
- manage the day-to-day plant operations;
- employ people managemet techniques to meet the demands of the company;
- coordinate and manage an effective and efficient operation of the Distribution Service Centres;
- ensure the plant facilities are properly maintained and safety standards are adhered to;
- ensure appropriate systems and procedures are in place to support production efficiencies and improved productivity;
- develop annual departmental budgets in conjunction with the Financial Controller;
- develop and implement new processes and strategies to improve performance results with minimal additions to capital and staffing; and
- ensure compliance to the ISO 9001 and 14001 standards.
Professional qualification
The successful candidate should possess:
- Bachelors of Science in Management or related discipline from a recognised institution;
- background in Chemical Engineering would be an asset; and
- minimum of five (5) years related work experience at a managerial level.
