Senior Procurement Coordinator

Summary: The incumbent would be responsible for supporting the Company in carrying out procurement processes including: preparation of Request for Proposals, Expressions of Interest, receipt of quotations, bids or proposals, participate in evaluation committees, negotiation of contract terms and contract management.

 

Job Duties:

  • Ensuring that all procurement activities of the Company, are prepared and implemented in a timely manner and reflect high professional standards.
  • Builds and maintains internal Procurement Policies, Procedures and Process Flows.
  • Prepares bidding documents for all goods and services based on terms of reference and technical specifications
  • Conduct bidders’ meetings, providing clarification and ensuring completion of minutes on the bidding process for bidders.
  • Facilitate the formation and coordination of Procurement Selection Committees that will receive, review
    technical and financial bids in accordance with the Company.
  • Manage the procurement processes in a fair and transparent manner;
  • Provide professional advice on procurement matters to Company’s Leadership Team;
  • Prepares non-objection requests in line with Company policies and guidelines.
  • Ensures that all relevant documentation is included when submitting procurement requests to Chief Executive Officer and Tenders Sub Committee;
  • Prepares and updates the Annual Procurement Plans in Relation to the Company’s Operational Plan inputting all necessary timelines and budgetary considerations in addition to technical and financial selection criteria for each procurement activity;
  • Ensure proper record keeping for procurement processes;
  • Performs any other job related responsibilities assigned.

Qualifications/Experience:

  • Post graduate training/education in Business, Contract/Project Management, Finance, Law, Supply Chain Management or related discipline;
  • Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (CIPS) certification.
  • Extensive knowledge and experience relating to public sector procurement and supply chain
    management
  • Minimum five (5) years of progressively responsible professional experience in public sector procurement and supply chain management, with at least three (3) years of relevant experience; at a supervisory level;
  • Strong negotiating skills and the ability to influence others to reach agreement;
