Primary objective of the job:
- In 2015 Digicel will revolutionize the telecommunications market in Jamaica once again. We will launch our new Fiber To The Home (FTTH) offering in the market turning Digicel into a full service communications company (mobile, fixed landline, fixed broadband and TV). The Senior Marketing Manager for this new brand will be responsible for launching this new brand in Jamaica and ensuring the company's image in marketing communications for the FTTH portfolio including but not limited to advertising, public relations, sponsorship and collateral development, is kept at a consistently high level. They will be responsible for maintaining an excellent level of relationship with advertising and public relation agencies and other key stakeholders in business, government and society.
Number of persons managed/supervised and their positions:
- 3 - Marcomms, Sponsorship & PR manager and Content Manager (Successful candidate will have the ability to build own team)
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
- Conceptualize, develop and drive the implementation of a strategic and communications plan.
- Drive and guide the development of corporate, consumer, business to business and product-specific key messages and provide ongoing media training for company spokespersons and other public-facing senior employees.
- Develop an evaluation/review methodology/tool and drive its implementation and continuous use in the evaluation of all programmes/activities executed.
- Develop and manage key relationships with senior external media personnel and senior internal executives in both Digicel Jamaica and Digicel Group.
- Develop content required to drive engagement activities around the new Digicel brand.
- Provide effective leadership to the team members; managing performance see to team personal development; providing effective feedback and discipline where necessary.
- Develop and manage the overall budgets effectively, delivering all planned executions within budget.
- Plan and activate strategic development campaigns for the Digicel sponsorship portfolio
- Create an insight-led, customer centric full 360 degree campaign that will inspire all activation elements and build the Digicel brand
- Outline the audience segmentation for each campaign and describe how the strategy will target each group
- Lead the development, implementation and management of high visibility, creative and innovative campaigns
- Manages the advertising agency in developing new advertising creative in support of campaign/product launches.
- Ensure cost optimization and superior quality for the company.
- Manage the media planning team on monthly basis to media buys and effective placement.
- Work closely with business insights, product team, and retail sales team in developing marketing campaigns/products to help deliver respective targets/objectives.
- Act as a company spokesman.
Academic qualifications and experience required for job:
- BSc in Marketing, Sales, Business Administration or related field
- At least three years' (with two years in a senior role) professional experience, executing marketing campaigns, working in a telecoms environment.
Experience in and with the mobile telecommunications sector would be considered a valuable asset.
