Senior Manager - Credit

JOB SUMMARY - The incumbent is responsible to minimize the Bank’s exposure to sub-standard credit risk and to maximize collection and recovery on these unacceptably high risk assets.

The incumbent is responsible to minimize the Bank’s exposure to sub-standard credit risk and to maximize collection and recovery on these unacceptably high risk assets.

 Duties and Responsibilities

• Develop and implement strategies to ensure timely and appropriate action is taken to avert loss and maximizes collections/recovery on high risk delinquent corporate loans
• Evaluate credit exposure via Criticize Credit Management Report (CCMR) and makes recommendations for provisions and write-offs against loan loss
• Provide input in developing and implementing departmental goals and plans
• Provide input with staff training throughout the network in loan management in collaboration with the Human Resources Department
• Make recommendations for improved credit processes and lending
• Provide input in building the bank’s business portfolios
• Ensure high standards of communication both within the institution and external
• Supervise the work of the Commercial Workout Unit
• Review applications from the Recoveries Unit and former Varinstall Mortgages
• Supervise the Credit Audit process for the network

Qualifications and Experience

Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s Degree in a Business related field from a reputable University and seven (7) years progressive experience in Banking, at least five (5) of which must be at the Managerial Level OR an IBAF Diploma and a minimum of ten (10) years progressive experience in banking, at least seven (7) of which must be at a Managerial Level OR the GMDP Certificate and a minimum of twelve (12) years progressive experience in banking, at least ten (10) of which must be at a Managerial Level. In addition, a minimum eight (8) years progressive experience at a managerial level, working with high risk credits. The ideal candidate should possess knowledge of risk management, motivational skills and excellent communication skills.
