The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the preparation of quotations, tenders and pre-qualifications for projects biding

To support the overall achievement of business objectives by leading the preparation of quotations, tenders and pre-qualifications for projects being bid by the central proposals department.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Supervision

  1. To oversee overall coordination of Proposals Unit and optimize its efficiency
  2. Supervise, coach and guide the proposals team in the day to day operations of the department

 Administration

  1. Takes the lead role in responding to customer requests for quotations, invitations to tender and pre-qualifications
  2. Participate in the costing of proposals and compilation of cost models for all works being tendered
  3. Responsible for the provision of accurate offerings to our customers and ensure the optimal price, margin & delivery are included in proposal packages
  4. Provide support to all divisions in the pre-qualifications, tenders and commercial proposals that they are submitting
  5. Prepare a tender plan, identifying deliverables, and develop an action list of what is to be done, by whom and a timetable for delivery
  6. Participate in the analysis of the risks associated with the tender
  7. Ensure compliance with Stork policies and commercial requirements
  8. Work with internal divisions in respect to their deliverables under the tender plan
  9. Participate in the costing of proposals and compilation of cost models for all works being tendered
  10. Ensure proposals are in compliance with Group HSEQ policies
  11. Continually monitor and improve on company commercial and bidding practices
  12. Ensure a central register of all tenders being submitted is maintained
  13. Prepare and submit reports to Management as required
  14. Promote the professional image of Stork Trinidad
  15. Provide technical expertise and advice in relation to projects/contracts
  16. Other tasks/responsibilities that may be assigned to you from time to time

Communication

  1. Coordinate, and when necessary attend site visits and clarification meetings as required
  2. Liaise with suppliers, sub-contractors and other third parties to ensure that accurate and compliant tenders are developed 

Education:

  • BSc. Degree or similar Technical qualification in Mechanical or Petroleum Engineering
  • Experience: Minimum of five (5) years’ experience hands-on experience in Estimating, Planning and Executing of multidiscipline projects within the petrochemical industry
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including MS Word/ Excel/ Access/ Outlook / Project Management/Planning
  • Project management training and experience
