Senior Devices Category Manager
Primary objective of the job:
The candidate will be responsible for negotiating supplier contracts, achieving continual price reductions and driving continuous improvement in the area of Procurement of Handsets and related items, maintaining Procurement processes & procedures and implementing new ones where required, ensuring procedures and process are complied with by the wider business organization, managing supplier relationships and supplier performance in accordance with agreed criteria including the meeting of delivery deadlines and agreed price points. Maintaining the Group Aftersales strategy and ensuring the suppliers all offer warranty for all devices.
Number of persons managed/supervised and their positions:

Main Duties and Responsibilities:
* Develop and maintain strong relationships with vendors that will allow the implementation of Procurement plans and policies in a collaborative manner.
* Negotiate /re-negotiate new and/or existing prices to ensure that Digicel is continually receiving best value for its money against benchmarked targets.
* Develop and continuously improve internal processes associated with strategic sourcing and implement supplier KPI's where necessary.
* Continually looking to identify and achieve significant cost saving across supplier base.
* Liaise and work with other departments (e.g. Distribution, Technical, Marketing, Finance) and markets where required to identify ongoing supply requirements
* Ensure that suppliers deliver to agreed price, quality, and service levels.
* Continually looking to introduce new suppliers to maintain competitiveness in the areas of price, quality and service levels.
* Escalate supplier related issues (Marketing funds required, incorrect pricing, poor quality devices, etc.) with the supplier themselves and relevant Heads of Department/Directors in Digicel.
* Provide constructive feedback to suppliers on their overall performance and specifically in cases of tenders that have not been successful.
* Proactively review the marketplace for new products which might enhance or replace goods/supplies presently being purchased and feedback this information to the relevant Heads of Department/Directors in Digicel.
* Produce monthly Manufacturer Marketing funds reports which will be used to drive handset marketing activities.
* Carry out and manage regular business reviews for key suppliers.
Academic qualifications and experience required for job:
Essential:
* Very strong in the areas of supplier contract management.
* Seasoned negotiator.
* Strong influencing skills at executive and senior management level.
* Results driven with proven ability to deliver.
* Problem solving skills and solution driven.
* Effective communicator - both orally and written.
* Degree in business management or equivalent qualifications in purchasing & logistics.
* Minimum five (5) years' experience in a Telecoms/FMCG or similar high volume environment in a senior procurement management role

Working Condition: (Mainly Office Based)
o In normal circumstances, the Company operates a five-day work week of eight hours per day. However, it is acknowledged that you may be required to work additional hours or outside the five day work week when necessary to adequately discharge you duties to the Company
