Core Duties:
Receiving:
Checks the goods received from inbound shipments to ensure that the contents match the information provided on the invoice, and that the quality of the products has not been compromised. This may include but is not limited to:
Weighing packages
Counting all inventory to verify quantity of loose items.
Enters the required information regarding received items into the automated Warehouse Management system, including but not limited to, overages, shortages and damages.
Generates reports as required, including but not limited to reports on overages, shortages and damages.
Prints, tags and labels all products that enter the Warehouse to aid in an efficient picking process.
Follows appropriate procedures and policies in accordance with Good Distribution Practice when dealing with the receipt of cold storage items. This may include but is not limited to:
Opening the container to observe and record the temperature upon arrival.
Stopping the temperature recording device.
Quarantining goods which were not within the specified temperature range.
Assists with the off-loading of containers and executes put away commands by packing all received goods in the designated storage areas in keeping with safety policies and good distribution practice.
Picking & Verifying:
Selects products from warehouse inventory as directed, utilising the appropriate equipment, and places items in the containers provided to fill customer orders in a safe, accurate and timely manner.
Generates reports of container contents via the automated Warehouse Management System and compares this document with picked items to ensure accuracy of the picking process.
Closes the order when verification is completed.
Packages, labels and places correctly picked customer orders into the relevant bond and, in the absence of the WMS, generates, signs and attaches an invoice to delivery logs in preparation for dispatching.
Quality Control:
Verifies contents of packages against invoices as directed in order to avoid errors.
Re-packages order if order is incorrect.
Replenishment/Returns:
Checks returned goods to ensure that the contents match the information provided on the invoice and keys in such information to generate the internal returned product report (returns authorisation).
Enters the required information regarding products that are being replenished into the automated Warehouse Management System.
Completes replenishment commands and packs returned goods in the designated storage areas in keeping with safety policies and good distribution practice to ensure that stock is available in forward pick locations.
Keys in and generates error reports by compiling information from returned invoices.
General Duties:
Reports any damaged or expired products to Warehouse Manager.
Assists in the delivery bond and with emergency deliveries when required.
Restocks shelves to ensure a continuous supply of products.
Participates in mandatory good general housekeeping of the warehouse.
Assists with stock count exercises as required.
Supports the security of warehousing goods by acting with the highest level of trust and integrity in the handling process.
Operates in accordance with Good Distribution Practices.
Adheres to all company policies and procedures, inclusive of but not limited to the Company’s policy on health and safety, quality and standard operating procedures.
Undertakes other duties which may arise or may be delegated to support the objectives of the organisation.
Requirements:
Qualifications:
A minimum of five (5) CXC O’Level passes (inclusive of English and Mathematics).
Experience:
No previous experience required.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Good organizational skills
Good interpersonal skills.
Must be able to work in a fast paced environment.
Detail oriented.
Good communication skills.
Must be able to take instruction well (oral and written).
Must be a team player
Manual dexterity.
Computer literacy would be an asset.
