POSITION SUMMARY
The Security Officer is responsible for ensuring that the Company's staff, property, assets and valued guests are secure and protected at all times, interacting with customers and staff and writing accurate reports.
KEY FUNCTIONS
- Continuously seeks and capitalizes on opportunities to exceed the expectations of customers (internal and external) by placing a keen interest on understanding and effectively resolving customer-impacting issues in a professional and result-oriented manner.
- Patrol premises to prevent and detect signs of intrusion and ensure security of doors, windows and gates.
- Answers alarms and investigate disturbances.
- Monitors and authorize entrance and departure of employees, visitors and other persons to guard against theft and maintain security of premises.
- Write reports of daily activities and irregularities such as property damage, theft, presence of unauthorized persons or unusual occurrences and investigate matters pertaining to these.
- Ensures that the Company's safety and emergency procedures are followed in response to emergency alarms or any other site emergencies.
- Operates security control centre equipment / systems, computers, radios, phones.
- Performs related work: "the duties listed above are intended only as illustrations of the various types of work that may be performed. The omission of specific statements of duties does not exclude them from the position if the work is similar, related or a logical assignment to that position.'

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE - Five (5) CXC passes inclusive of Mathematics and English
- 2-3 years of related experience, one (1) of which must have been operating in a similar role.
- First Aid and CPR certifications will be considered an asset.
- Any equivalent combination of education and progressively responsible experience, with additional work experience substituting for the required education on a year for year basis.
