To act as the catalyst for the sustainable development and modernization of the seafood sector in Trinidad and Tobago

The SIDC sees itself as the agent that will stimulate a significant paradigm change amongst the stakeholders in the industry towards sustainable socio-economic and capital development, environmental preservation, consumer satisfaction and competitiveness of the sector.

Mission

To support the sustainable growth of the seafood sector in partnership with all stakeholders through effective use of project management, research, publishing, training, mentoring, consulting, and network brokerage services

The key element in this statement is the use of the term “in partnership with all stakeholders”, which recognizes the value of inclusiveness. The Guiding Principles of the SIDC in fulfilling its mission are Teamwork, Integrity, Professionalism, Passion, Innovation and Trust. The primary objective of the Seafood Industry Development Company (SIDC) is to ensure that the strategic goals of the Fish and Fish Processing Industry Plan (FFIP) are met
