SALES REPRESENTATIVE (Batteries, Automotive Industry)
Job Summary
To perform all tasks required for the efficient sale of Automotive, Industrial, Marine and Motorcycle Batteries to Authorised Dealers, or Commercial Customers of the Company.
Main Tasks
- Visiting existing Dealers to check stock levels and replenish required by them
- Visiting potential customers with a view to adding them as distributors of the company’s batteries.
- Assisting with the loading and off-loading of stock of Batteries into the Sales Van.
- Preparation of Invoices on a Cash or Charge basis as required or preparing Consignment Notes.
- Keeping records of your customers stock of Batteries; in the case of consignment dealers, taking monthly inventory of such stock and billing the customers for batteries sold and collecting monies for such sale on a cash basis.
- Ensuring that the customer is rotating his stock. Returning older stock to be recharged and sold. Recording such transactions with the appropriate Consignment return or Credit Note.
- Collecting outstanding monies owed by customers and accounting for, and paying in same according to the Company’s procedures.
- Ensuring that all safety rules and regulations are in place and observed for the proper handling of Batteries.
- Completion of a Salesman’s Daily Report indicating the customers or potential customers visited and a brief indication of the activity or discussions held.
- Keeping the assigned Vehicle clean and presentable at all times and being courteous and observing all traffic regulations to portray a proper image of the Company.
- Any other tasks which the Manager or a Director may assign from time to time in order to discharge the purpose of the job.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to establish priorities, follow directives and work with little supervision.
- Knowledge of the automotive industry is an asset.
Qualifications and Experience:
- 5 CXC level subjects (including English and Mathematics).
- 3 years of sales experience.
- Sales Training is an asset
Special Requirements:
- Willing to work overtime on holidays or weekends, whenever necessary
- Always on call to assist clients.
Starting Salary: $5750 plus commissions ($6300 plus commissions upon successful completion of probation)
