Our client in the Distribution Sector is seeking to fill the position of Sales Manager.

 

 

 

Job Purpose:

Work closely with the Sales Team & Brand Managers to ensure the Department attains its budgets, revenue and strategic goals in accordance with governance policies of the Company, its stakeholders and shareholders.

    

Responsibility for:

  • Effectively position and coordinate the Division sales and marketing functions ahead of competition
  • Management and growth of profit margins in keeping with strategic plan for division/company
  • Annual preparation of Division's Sales and Marketing Budgets.
  • Constantly analyze and evaluate the effectiveness of sales, methods, costs, and results.
  • Ensure the division's A&P expenses do not surpass budget requirements.
  • Constantly review opportunities to improve operational efficiency and reduce cost within division.
  • Directly manage major and critical accounts as needed.
  • Drive new business agenda and other avenues for divisional sales and margin growth.
  • Represent the company at various business meetings to promote the Company
  • Engender positive relations with principals, customers and stakeholders.
  • Work in conjunction with department managers and corporate staff to develop and execute strategic business plans for division/company.
  • Ensures achievement of KPls and strategic plan initiatives in the set time frames.
  • Develop with the divisional management team the Divisions' Sales and Marketing Plan/Budgets. This will include:
    • Major brand programs execution & retail activation
    • Customer Relationship Building Activities
    • Periodic Sale drive execution
    • New Business Agenda
  • Performing any other duties that management may from time to time assign to the post.

   

Skills:

  • Highly motivated   team player that is passionate about Marketing and Sales with an insatiable level of enthusiasm, confidence and drive.
  • Must  have an impressive  track  record  in driving  sales and launching  new products from  start  to finish.
  • Know the sale processes 'inside out' and be able to identify ways to improve it for the Company.
  • Must be able to analyse market trends and behaviour to uncover new business and sales opportunities.
  • Must have an impressive track record in building and managing brands.
  • Must enjoy leading and motivating  large teams
  • Must have a keen understanding of the impact his/her decisions will make on the bottom line.
  • Entrepreneurial talent
  • Strong "on-trade" relationships
  • Must be able to travel abroad in short notice
  • Self-motivated
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent negotiation skills.

   

Qualifications:

  • A First Degree in Marketing or a related discipline
  • A minimum of three (3) years’ experience in a similar capacity
