SOLUTION ARCHITECT
Job Purpose:
The Customer Solutions Design team within Fujitsu’s Solutions Group is responsible for end to end solution architecture of all customer initiatives and projects across Fujitsu’s Core Services and Industry Business Units.
The Solution Architect manages design projects across multiple disciplines.. The role holder works at senior management level to define and deliver major technical projects/strategies/architectures, demonstrating a comprehensive understanding of the customers’ business and commercial issues, and contributing key insights.
Key Accountabilities
- Conducts technical reviews of the customer’s requirements and the proposed solution to determine fit with Fujitsu’s offerings, fit with customer business needs, the technical viability of the solution and approach, the project delivery risks and mitigations, and the accuracy of the estimates.
- Shapes the end-to-end technical proposals to be acceptable to the customer and recommends solution/service trade-offs where appropriate.
- Leads and influences others in the development of new solution and service offerings.
- Works with customers to understand their business strategy and develop IT strategies and end to end architecture for significant areas of their business.
- With an overall solution in mind, the Solution Architect will research, evaluate and select technology and infrastructure products, analyze functionality and features, assesses cost benefit factors and budgetary/resource impacts, impacts/risks to customer organization, security and users, investigates compatibility with the existing operating environment selects products for evaluation, determines evaluation criteria and recommends final selection.
Skills/Knowledge/Experience
- Well-developed communication and consulting skills, particularly at senior customer levels.
- Technical leadership.
- Extensive and in-depth knowledge of the delivery of IT Services & Solutions.
- Practical business and industry knowledge of key vertical sectors including Telecoms, Financial Services and Government.
- Demonstrable knowledge of the IT managed services & outsourcing industry.
- Experienced in a wide range of technology areas and all areas of the solution life cycle process. IT experience in a specialist role.
- Able to coach, mentor and develop other team members
- Assess and evaluate new emerging products and works with Company and customers to ensure that the product adheres to establish standards, policies and guidelines
- The role holder must demonstrate a working knowledge and expert-level competence in the following areas:
- Network technology Design and Implementation
- Security technology Design and Implementation
- Virtualization technology Design and Implementation
- Disaster Recovery Design and Implementation
Key Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Information Technology with a minimum of 5 years related work experience in a progressive IT environment, with at least 3 years at a supervisory level, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Must possess industry standard certification at a professional level eg Cisco CCNP, Checkpoint CCSE, Fortinet FCNSP
