S.M. Jaleel & Company Limited, a leading manufacturer and distributor of non-alcoholic beverages, with overseas operations in the Caribbean Region is seeking suitably qualified and experienced nationals to fill the position of Senior Human Resources Officer.
Job Summary and Responsibilities:
· The Senior Human Resources Officer is responsible for overseeing the HR Functions in accordance with the Company’s policies and procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
· Manages all HR functions including Recruitment, Training, Compensation, HRIS, Performance Management and Industrial Relations to ensure the smooth operation of the department and delivery of consistent and excellent service to internal and external customers
· Updates the staff establishment and monitors approved staffing to ensure no unauthorized growth occurs
· Reviews and signs off all employee contracts, promotions, transfer etc.
· Assists with day-to-day IR issues and grievances, conducts disciplinary inquiries, prepares evidence and arguments for submission to IR Consultant, and represents the company at matters in the Ministry of Labour and Industrial Court.
· Provides coaching and mentoring of subordinate staff
· Develops and implements Human Resource Management policies and procedures and ensures that the Company’s HR policies, procedures, and terms of employment are current and relevant
· Promotes and maintains a harmonious labour relations environment within the context of organizational strategy
· Ensures that operating budgets are developed and managed in accordance with the organization’s guidelines and procedures
· Enhances the leadership capabilities of line management by providing support and timely resolution on HR matters including, coaching and dealing with disciplinary issues and difficult employees.
· Addresses all employee relations issues and provides counseling when necessary
· Prepares weekly status reports to the chairman along with other ad hoc reports as requested
· Assists Manager with Purchase Approvals, Reports and Dept Planning.
· Oversees the coordinating of staff training including confirmation of bookings, cancellations, interaction with consultants etc.
· Overseas the administration of Educational assistance provided by the Company.
· Oversees the Appraisal and Bonus process throughout the organization
· Creates reviews and updates job descriptions, specifications and vacancy ads.
· Screens candidates and provides recommendations to the Human Resources Manager and Department Heads with regards to candidate qualifications and suitability for the job
· Ensures that reference and background checks are conducted for candidates being considered for hire in the organization
· Oversees online recruitment in terms of Caribbean Jobs.
· Oversees the Micropay and trouble shoots any issues that may arise.
Education and Experience:
· Bachelors’ Degree in Human Resource Management or Social Sciences
· At least five (5) years’ experience performing HR functions
· Experience in Micropay will be considered an asset.
· Experience in a Supervisory Position
· Excellent communication skill
· Creative problem solving skills
