SENIOR CROWN COUNSEL
The Government of Montserrat is inviting applications from suitably qualified persons for the post of Senior Crown Counsel, within the Attorney General’s Chambers.
RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE:
CANDIDATES QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE PROFILE:
The applicants must:
Have a Bachelor’s Degree in Law;
Have a Legal Education Certificate or admission as an Attorney at Law, Barrister or Solicitor;
Be qualified and eligible to practice in a Commonwealth Law Jurisdiction;
Have a minimum of five (5) years’ experience practicing as an Attorney-at- law;
Have working knowledge of and ability to interpret the Laws of Montserrat;
Have working knowledge and an ability to interpret legislation, rules, regulations, agreements and other legal document;
Have the ability to draft indictments, and pleadings, and prepare legal submissions;
Possess analytical and problem solving skills;
Be decisive, and have soundness of judgment and clarity of presentation;
Be knowledgeable of Government procedure and practices;
Have effective communication skills;
Be computer literacy;
Be able to work as part of a team;
Be able to prepare clear and concise reports;
Be able to work independently and without constant supervision.
TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF ENGAGEMENT:
Appointment will be made either on a permanent basis or on a contractual basis for two (2) years.
REMUNERATION PACKAGE
Basic salary is in the scale R12-R08, that is, EC$65,232.00 to EC$71,400.00 per annum (taxable).
