Reports to: Director

Division: Hand Arnold Trinidad Limited

 

 

JOB SUMMARY

  • The Sales Manager will be responsible for overseeing the sales for the entire division.

 

 

INTERNAL RELATIONSHIPS

  • Reports to the Director

 

EXTERNAL RELATIONSHIPS

  • Liaises with external suppliers on an on-going basis

 

 

PRINCIPAL DUTIES

  • Ultimately Responsible for:

 

    • The current and long term profitable operation and growth of the Division.
    • The ordering of stock from both foreign and local suppliers with the assistance of the Manager.

 

  •    Ensures that such ordering of stocks takes into consideration the existing inventory levels and the timeframe within which the new stocks being ordered could be sold.

 

  •    Spearheads the development of the division’s annual corporate plan and budget.

 

  •    Handling of correspondence with our foreign and local suppliers and receiving them when they visit us.

 

  •    Conducts sales meetings with the Division’s sales staff and merchandisers so that you can be kept abreast of what is happening out in the field.

 

  •    Orders and distributes advertising materials from principals.

 

  •    Reviews computer sales reports of each salesperson on a daily basis.

 

  •    Ensures the division is suitably staffed by selecting such qualified staff as may be required from time to time by conducting interviews with possible candidates.

 

  •   Constantly reviews our products acceptance in the marketplace and comes up with suitable promotions in conjunction with the Marketing Manager to move any slow moving products.  

 

  • Liaises with the Billing Desk and Warehouse to ensure prompt deliveries to customers.

 

  • Continually seeks out new products for the Division to market and to conduct such market research with the help of the Marketing Manager to ascertain the feasibility of marketing such products.

 

  • Continually reviews the marketability of our existing products and to decide to drop any products from our line up that are of sub-standard quality, too expensive or on which an acceptable mark-up cannot be made.

 

  • Make field visits to our main customers to ensure that they are happy with our service and to keep abreast of what our competition is doing.

 

  • Deals with customers on issues of returned goods and other problems where a salesperson cannot satisfy the customer.

 

  • Recommends and organizes suitable training for your staff members.

 

  • Liaise and works with Salespersons and Van Salespersons to ensure they achieve their sales quotas.

 

  • Ensures that the department’s sales and profit targets are achieved.

 

  • Ensures that all bookings of gondola, shelf rentals and co-op advertising are within our normal guidelines and always within the funds available.

 

  • Liaise with the salesperson to ensure that the outlets are properly stocked to coincide with our promotions.

 

  • Performs other such duties as management may from time to time assign to this post.  

 

 

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

  • A First Degree in Management  or any other related disciple
  • At least five (5) years Sales experience at a senior level
  • Supervisory experience 

 

 

KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS

  • Excellent communication skills both written and oral
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Sound analytical and problem solving skills
