SALES ASSOCIATE, - San Juan

Sales Associate

Position Purpose: With general direction from the Store Manager this position requires the individual to provide superior customer service, complete sales transactions and other merchandise transactions according to company procedures. It also requires Associate to maintain Store cleanliness and the merchandise availability. Sales Associates that carry keys to open and close the store will be required to do assigned administrative task.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:          

CUSTOMER SERVICE – Associate must be able to service customers’ needs and use sales techniques. Associate must understand Store layout and be able to respond to customers questions about the location of merchandise and payment policies, etc. in a prompt and courteous fashion. Associate must be understandable in their communication with all customers.

POINT OF SALE OPERATION – Associate must be able to enter data into register to accomplish various transactions

TRANSACTION ACCURACY – Associates are responsible for accurately recording transactions and making change.

TRANSACTION DOCUMENT PROCESSING – Associate must process paperwork associated with all forms of point of sale transaction  

CUSTOMER PURCHASE BAGGING – All associates must package a customer’s purchases, unassisted, in bags provided for this purpose when necessary

FLOOR CONTROL – Associates must be able to move freely throughout the store to observe customers and prospective customer, provide service and detect indications of theft or other security risk.

INVENTORY – Associate must take inventory on a regular basis and place timely request for replenishment with your Stock Champion, being especially careful to make sure that paint room tints are stocked at all times. Associate may need to organize to have goods delivered to customers.

PRICE CHANGES – Associate must have the manual dexterity and movement sufficient to change prices and tag merchandise as directed via a price change list or computer price change on a daily basis

STORE DISPLAYS – Associate must be capable of changing Store displays and signs. This often required the ability to climb ladders

STORE OPENING/CLOSING –Associate must have the dexterity require to operate a key lock, a tumbler or key pad safe combination, and may be required to activate or deactivate an alarm system through the entry of a security code. Associate may also be required to lift or open a security gate

HOUSEKEEPING – Associate must have the ability to complete routine, daily housekeeping tasks (dusting shelves, picking up of trash etc). Associate must maintain all equipment and tools according to established procedures.

Any other related responsibilities that may be assigned by Management

 Education & Experience

A minimum of Five (5) O’ Level passes two (2) of which must include English and Mathematics or

Minimum of two (2) years experience in a similar position

OR

A Combination of qualifications and experience approved by Management or

Previous retail experience will be an asset but not required and a demonstrated ability to work with people
