Primary objective of the job:
Primarily responsible for driving the revenue for a key product line(s) assigned towards meeting and/or exceeding business plan objectives and KPIs by:
- Constant monitoring of users, revenue, activations and usage behavior to ensure that product line is meeting or exceeding targets
- Working with Business Analysts to ensure that KPIs, reporting and customer profile information are in place to inform daily decisions on product line
- Driving revenue by new products and promotions and pricing changes
- Driving the business to ensure that marketing and the overall business strategy are aligned to your goals in driving key revenue streams

Main Duties and Responsibilities:
- Define the short and long term product strategy for the portfolio towards meeting KPIs
- Manage the product portfolio mix, towards meeting and/or exceeding business plan objectives and KPIs, while guiding products through their life-
cycle.
- Identify and implement new promotions, products or pricing initiatives to drive the key product line
- End-to-end ownership and management of key product area with responsibility for driving the product roadmap for the portfolio - Defining new
products and managing existing products within the product area.
- Manage the P&L of the product area and continuously seeking to improve revenues and profitability from the portfolio's existing products and from
new product introductions.
- Monitor market trends and industry developments and proactively recommends portfolio enhancements towards developing products that are
customer focused, useable and relevant.
- Define product KPIs with business analyst and ensure daily monitoring and management of KPIs to identify key trends and usage behavior and use to
inform decisions on product line.
- Work closely with business analyst and drive them to produce relevant and meaningful data (e.g. daily, weekly, monthly, yearly etc) on activations,
revenue, usage , customer profiles and other key data for the key revenue stream
- Own and execute Product offers on a segmented basis to ensure maximum return on campaigns and offers, ensuring proper tracking and messaging
is in place.
- Lead cross-functional teams to ensure integration of product strategy and programs across key functional areas: Technical, Sales, Marketing,
Customer Care and Operations etc.
- Coordinate and drive other areas of the business to ensure that all areas are aligned to the goal of driving the assigned product revenue stream
- Assess and recommend new areas of development to drive the key revenue stream
- Work closely with stakeholder departments to define the long and short term roadmap and lead cross functional teams through the implementation
and delivery of the promotions, pricing or developments.
- Work with Technology, Finance and Operations and other key stakeholders to ensure accurate, timely product reports for the portfolio.
- Work closely with Marketing to define the communications plan and activities for the product area.
- Work closely with Distribution/Sales and Customer Care to ensure activities and resources are in place to support key ATL & BTL initiatives for the
product area.
- Monitor all touch points across the business for the product to ensure consistent messaging
- Reporting on product area KPI performance by providing detailed and summary tracking reports to the Department Head, CCO and SMT on the
product area - daily, weekly, monthly etc.
- Work with the Business Analysts to complete Business Cases and/or impact analysis for key initiatives
- Collection and analysis of competitive information for the product area, providing regular updates on competitive products and promotions, pricing, messaging and positioning.
- Manage the vendor reconciliation and settlement process for the product area.
Product Management and inputs to Product Development:
- Evaluate new concepts and ideas to determine commercial feasibility prior to implementation.
- Drafting and ownership of initial concept document / high level business requirements requests for new initiatives being requested, and feed same into
the development team for more detailed requirements to be developed and rolled out.
- Ensure services within portfolio are relevant and specify changes and enhancements to ensure they are still competitive and attractive in the market
- Define requirements for market research, feasibility studies, and competitive intelligence to inform product development activities for the portfolio.
- Research evolving markets, market trends, customer needs and gathering and summarizing functional products specifications in conjunction with
technology, operations and marketing and other key stakeholders.
- Participate in and provide requirements and inputs into the product development process for the assigned product area.
- Track the status of existing products and new product developments across the assigned portfolio.
Academic qualifications and experience required for job:
- Minimum of a Bachelors' Degree in Business, Finance, Marketing or Science (or equivalent professional qualification). MBA or second degree a plus.
- 3-5 years Commercial experience for a telecom provider working in a revenue generating or product type role.
- Demonstrate strong analytical skills and attention to detail
- Ability to interface & influence key areas of the business and take full ownership and responsibility for key product area.
- Sound Knowledge of budget and business case preparation and financial analysis
- Strong project management experience (or qualifications)
