Retail Supervisor
Position Purpose: This position is responsible to direct efforts of the Store Associates
toward maintaining the company standards of Store presentation and
customer service while achieving the store standards of sales, profit
and inventory control.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:
RETAIL PROFITABILITY - Supervisor must use the procedures and controls necessary to meet or exceed the sales goals established for their branch to ensure the expansion of retail business.
MODEL FOR CUSTOMER SERVICE – Supervisor must consistently perform customer service and selling techniques as an example to all Associates of meeting customer needs, as well as providing solutions to customers’ complaints and queries.
MERCHANDISING – Supervisor must be able to analyze, identify and communicate the needs for his/her retail outlet to the Retail Manager and monitor branch inventory and maintain adequate supplies of stock.
TRAINING AND ASSOCIATE DEVELOPMENT - Supervisor is responsible to execute the training plan set out by the Retail Manager and executes other skill development programs as directed.
MAINTENANCE – Supervisor must ensure that the branch is maintained in a clean, tidy and attractive manner. He/she should be able to identify and report interior and exterior branch maintenance issues to Retail Manager as well as report any system irregularities or problems to the Retail Manager and Service Manager.
EQUIPMENT MANUALS – Supervisor must ensure the proper storage of manuals for displayed equipment
POINT OF SALE OPERATIONS – Supervisor must ensure that all sales are processed accurately according to company procedures and ensure that sales associates follow same. Supervisor must also be able to encourage our VIP program and ensure that sales associates follow same.
COACHING AND COUNSELING – Supervisor has the responsibility to provide guidance and direction through Coaching and Counseling to all Associates and ensure their effective job performance.
SCHEDULING – Supervisor should work along with Retail Manager to develop a monthly roster based upon forecasted sales and other business.
INVENTORY – Supervisor must take inventory on a regular basis and place timely request for replenishment.
ADMINISTRATION – Supervisor must be the Store expert on completing Administrative tasks regarding Inter-Warehouse Transfers, Delivery Notes, Trade Promotion, Material Request and Goods Returned Notes, which should be processed accurately and efficiently to achieve goals.
TRANSACTION DOCUMENT PROCESSING – Supervisor must process paperwork associated with all forms of point of sale transaction.
STAFFING SELECTION - Supervisor is to assist in the recruitment and selection process of new Sales Associate. This requires communication skills sufficient to follow an interview guide and structure.
PERFORMANCE EVALUATION – Supervisor has the responsibility to assist the Retail Manager in the completion of the Associates’ Performance Appraisal according to the schedules outlined in company procedures.
Any other related responsibilities that may be assigned by Management
Education & Experience
A minimum of Five (5) O’Level passes two (2) of which must include English and Mathematics or
Minimum of two (2) years experience in a similar position
OR
A Combination of qualifications and experience approved by Management or Proven track record in Sales and Marketing
