Job Summary

Our client in the Energy, Oil, and Gas sector is seeking to fill the position of Reservoir Engineering Technician. The Engineering Technician is a member of the subsurface team and will be responsible for providing technical support for the multi-disciplinary team. The subsurface team covers a wide variety of technical disciplines such as reservoir engineering, petrophysics, geology, geophysics, drilling and completions, and production engineering.  The successful candidate should be self-motivated, with a clear focus on the value that effective planning and engineering support can bring to the company.

 

Key Responsibilities:

The Engineering Tech will be responsible for the following areas:

  • Provide technical support to subsurface team members
  • Acquire, load, QA/QC, and analyze engineering and geological data needed for subsurface evaluation.
  • Assist with business plan requirements (Reserve cycle, Budget and Plan cycle)
  • Support team with development of Field Plan of Development documents that will be submitted to the MOEEI
  • Assisting with report and presentation preparation for various projects
  • Provide essential data management support for multiple projects in terms of both physical data/files and electronic data/files
  • Mine and analyze cost estimate information for future development activities and assist in utilizing in economic evaluations
  • Performs any other duties related to the job function as may be assigned

 

Experience and Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 3 years’ experience as an engineering technician or related work experience.
  • Technical degree/diploma or relevant Industry Experience
  • Advanced computer skills (especially Microsoft Office)
  • Working knowledge of economic evaluation software such as ARIES
  • Database utilization skills
  • Experience with Daily Activity Reports for drilling and well work
  • Knowledge of general oilfield terminology
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills (a team player)
  • Adaptable to changing priorities in a fast paced environment
  • Ability to work independently with minimum supervision
  • Desire to develop new workflows to improve team efficiency
