Regional HR Officer – Talent Development

Position Summary:

The Human Resource Officer – Talent Development reports to the Development Manager and will provide support to DIRECTV’s Talent Management programmes through the coordination of the Talent Acquisition portfolio to achieve and maintain optimal staffing levels; the administration of the Corporate Training Plan and coordination of the performance management process.

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinates recruitment activities, develops and maintains relationships with departmental managers and takes ownership of delivery targets.

  • Responsible for partnering with managers to determine resource priorities and competencies; leading the interview process and providing expert HR advice on candidate selection.

  • Creates networks locally and regionally for new talent through industry contacts, agencies, professional associations, government bodies and training institutions.

  • Develops a pool of talent in advance of need to hire.

  • Supports the Development Manager in the execution of the Company’s  Training Plan

    by identifying training initiatives based on developmental needs, recommending  solutions/programmes and measuring their effectiveness.

  • Responsible for coordinating all training programmes including ensuring all planning and logistical matters are  executed effectively.

  • Coordinates the Annual and Mid-Year Performance Reviews and provides guidance to Managers on the Review Process as well as the Review Meeting.

  • Supports the Development Manager in administering the Talent Review Programme as well as the administration of  the Employee Educational Assistance Programme.

Educational Requirements:

  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree and 2 years related experience in human resources.

  • Knowledge of recruitment techniques as well as Employment Legislation.

  • Results focused and self-motivated.

  • Ability to perform in a fast-paced environment with a proven track record in meeting and exceeding expectations including deadlines.

  • Team player with excellent communication skills and able to work with a diverse group of individuals.
