The position is responsible for the successful completion of railway mobile equipment servicing, overhauls and certification and to provide all technical input into the activities of the Maintenance Workshop.

Candidates should have:
A Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or its equivalent
A minimum of three (3) Years’ experience in rebuilding or overhauling large engines (over 500 horsepower).
Knowledge of the AAR railway standard
Main Responsibilities Include:
Provide all technical input the activities of the MRS Maintenance Workshop
Plan and schedule the routine servicing of rail track mobile equipment
Lead and conduct the overhaul and/or rebuilding of mobile equipment engines and hydraulic systems.
Service and maintain rail track workshop machinery
Plan and conduct training of mechanics where necessary
The incumbent must have highly developed leadership skills, as well as strong written and oral communication skills and the ability to work effectively in cross-functional groups within the organisation. The incumbent should be able to manage deadline and work effectively on multiple projects with minimum supervision.
