POSITION SUMMARY:

Quality/ Manufacturing Engineer, St. Kitts will be responsible for planning and directing improvement activities of current processes, equipment, and products that will allow us to meet our customers quality and delivery requirements in a team environment.  This includes proper maintenance of equipment to achieve maximum efficiency and minimal downtime.  The QME will have full ownership for the St. Kitts facility manufacturing processes.

 

This position is located in St. Kitts and is part of the Portescap operating company.   The facility also partners and shares some resources with its sister building API Delevan.

 

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Along with those identified below, other duties may be assigned. 

·        Works directly with West Chester Supplier QME to ensure quality and on time delivery of product from St. Kitts at reasonable cost.

·        Through the process of formal and informal production audits, operator feedback, and data analysis, recognizes quality concerns and addresses them by developing and implementing a sustainable solution that can be tracked by quantifiable results.

·        Designs, develops and maintains forms and instructions for recording, evaluating, and reporting quality and reliability data.  Compiles quality data, establishes regular communication of data, and facilitates action plans to drive continuous improvement of Quality.

·        Ensure repeatability and reproducibility of production equipment, processes, testing and measurement and analytical equipment.

·        Compiles and writes training material and conducts training/ coaching sessions on quality control and manufacturing processes.

·        Drives productivity improvements to reduce the cost of manufacturing while maintaining quality standards. 

·        Maintains ownership for equipment purchase and preventative maintenance and leads process/equipment troubleshooting.

·        Champions the company’s culture/ core values and leads by example (teamwork, continuous improvement, performance measurement, integrity, personal responsibility).

·        Responsible for following, editing, and updating the quality procedures and alerts as well as process instructions and standard work documents as required.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

·        Strong written, verbal and computer skills.

·        Experience designing and implementing error-proofing devices and systems in manufacturing processes.

·        Lean Manufacturing tools is preferred.

·        Excellent communications and instruction skills.

·        Familiarity with various technical manufacturing processes.

·        Demonstrated proficiency in time and project management.

 

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

·        The successful candidate will have an undergraduate degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field. 

·        Five years of manufacturing management experience is preferred. 

·        Prior experience with utilizing lean methodology is preferred.

KEY RELATIONSHIPS:

 

·        Internal to St. Kitts: The Quality/ Manufacturing Engineer, St. Kitts will report directly to the Manufacturing Manager.

 

·        External: The QME and Supplier QME at West Chester.
