Job Title:  Quality Control Technician                                 Department: Operations

Section:     Quality Control                                                        Reports to: Quality Control Supervisor

Job Purpose:

Ensures that the highest quality standards are maintained for intermediates and products throughout the value chain.

Key Result Areas;

1.       Performs and records routine laboratory tests on raw materials, process materials and finished products to determine conformance to the requirements of the Company.

2.       Reports the verification results of laboratory equipment/processes to relevant personnel and recommend appropriate corrective action.

3.       Calibrates specified laboratory equipment at the designated frequency and records results.

4.       Applies product release rules/criteria to assure products are at the designated frequencies and records results.

5.       Maintains the laboratory and other work areas in a clean, organized and sanitary manner.

6.       Conducts duties as communicated in the Company’s Management System documents and contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

A thorough knowledge of quantitative and qualitative chemical analysis is essential. Statistical Process Control (SPC) training or certified as an analyst through our internal systems.

Experience:

A minimum of six (6) months experience in a similar position in the manufacturing industry.

Education:

Science Technician’s Diploma or equivalent qualifications.
