QA/QC MONITOR
Position Title: QA/QC MONITOR
Reports to: Regional Manager
Other requirements:- Occasional out of town and overnight travel with or without notice.
GENERAL SUMMARY:
The Quality Monitor is responsible for assisting in the implementation and maintenance of Quality Management System policies, procedures and reporting requirements. Maintains direct communication with local management and Team QA Director in matters relating to quality.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Assist with the implementation, maintenance, and development of the QMS to ensure continuous improvement throughout the division to which assigned;
- Assist with the support on the planning, performance and reporting of branch assessments to verify the effectiveness of the QMS.
- Perform branch internal audits and report on the results to Corporate QA.
- Provide support during third-party (registrar) and customer assessments at branch locations; provide on-site assistance and training as required.
- Ensure customer satisfaction through the analysis and reporting of customer satisfaction data (i.e., NCR’s customer surveys); identify, track and promote the resolution of customer issues; provide guidance to branch management for such resolution.
- Perform Supplier assessments to ensure compliance with company’s quality, technical and purchasing requirements; maintain an Approved Supplier Listing (ASL) for the division to which assigned, addressing “Commercial” suppliers (as applicable).
- Maintain an awareness and understanding of all applicable regulations, codes, standards, and specifications, as well as company policies and procedures; communicate these requirements to affected branch personnel as necessary.
- Provide training, as necessary, to affected branch personnel, including customers, to obtain program compliance, process efficiency and effectiveness, cooperation, and morale.
- Assist in the building of RFQ’s (Request for Quotes) on Quality related matters.
- Maintain Branch Quality Program as explained in company’s Quality systems manual.
- Perform a minimum of Four (4) Quality field audits monthly (on different crews each month.)
- Create and maintain a tracking system for ALL equipment assigned to the Branch, further ensuring that ALL equipment is third party calibrated. This must be communicated on a regular basis to the operations.
- Update Operations on a monthly basis as to full compliance of Quality Program.
QUALIFICATIONS
•Bachelor’s degree preferred
•Certifications an advantage including Quality Auditor, Quality Engineer, Quality Improvement Associate, Six Sigma
•Quality inspection, auditing and testing experience
•Experience with implementation of corrective action programs
•Product or industry-specific experience
•Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office and databases
•Knowledge of tools, concepts and methodologies of QA
•Knowledge of relevant regulatory requirements
Previous experience in a Quality monitoring or quality control position is preferred;
- · Must successfully complete all co,mpany’s required training (i.e., Safety, Smith Driving, etc.),
- · This position requires the ability to perform a variety of tasks, often changing assignments on short notice
- · Must have the ability to prioritize and complete work assignments by specific deadlines.
- · Must have strong computer skills (i.e., MS Word, Access, Excel, etc.).
- · Must possess a valid driver’s license.
- · Work is conducted in a semi-private office/cubicle setting.
- · Completion of a 40 hour radiation safety course.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- · Ability to lift and carry 75 pounds.
- · Must be able to walk and climb except when performing non-field duties.
- · Sufficient clarity of speech and hearing or other communication capabilities, with or without reasonable accommodation, which permits employee to communicate effectively;

- · Sufficient manual dexterity with or without reasonable accommodation, which permit the employee to perform routine office duties;

- · Sufficient personal mobility to maneuver within a refinery or plant environment to include the ability to gain access to elevated platforms via ladders and stairwells.
JOB STANDARDS
- · Some work is conducted in a semi-private office/cubicle setting while some requires work in the field.
- · Field duties require outdoor work in a plant atmosphere.
- · Interaction with other crew employees, as well as supervisors and client personnel.
- · Working in plant and/or shop areas around production machinery with extreme noise levels.
- · Must be able to wear safety equipment as required by the safety department for personal
protection.
- · May be at more than one job site in a day and must be able to tolerate climate changes.
- · May be required to travel out of town on a periodic basis.
