The following opportunity exists within a leading Group of Companies in Jamaica, for a highly motivated, creative and results-oriented individual to fill the position of:

                                                   Public Relations Manager

The duties and responsibilities of the selected individual will include:

• ·         Responding to requests for information from the media or designating an appropriate spokesperson or information source
• ·         In collaboration with the Directors, developing and executing an effective public relations strategy/campaign aimed at positively influencing public opinion on the image of the Group and the range of products offered
• ·         Preparing and editing publications for internal and external audiences including Customer and Employee newsletters
• ·         Writing interesting and effective press releases, preparing information for media kits and updating the Group’s websites
• ·         Developing and maintaining the Group’s corporate image and identity, which includes the use of logos and signage
• ·         Conferring with the media and advertising houses to produce and coordinate the production of advertisements and promotions
• ·         Arranging public appearances, contests or exhibits in order to increase product and service awareness and to promote goodwill
• ·         Drafting speeches for company executives and arranging interviews and other forms of contact for them
• ·         Managing all administrative and public relations activities associated with a charitable foundation

The ideal candidate should possess the following:

• ·         A minimum of a first degree in Mass Communications, Journalism or a related discipline
• ·         At least three years’ experience in a similar capacity
• ·         Exceptional written and oral skills
• ·         Ability to multi-task
• ·         Persons who have experience working with a major newspaper or trade publication, have published works and can present writing samples, will be at an advantage in the short-listing process.
