Caribbean Housing Limited is a property development company, specializing in building residential communities complete with supporting infrastructure and retail and other commercial facilities, since 1968. We are seeking a Qualified Professional with related experience in the Property Development Industry to lead our Property Management Team in the following position:
The incumbent will be responsible for ensuring that the Company’s real estate assets realise their expected revenues, by managing the performance of these income generating residential and commercial properties. This includes maintaining optimum property rentals through advertising and filling of vacancies, negotiating and enforcing leases, and maintaining and securing premises, while ensuring the timely disposal of the Company’s saleable assets.
The successful candidate will establish and oversee the operations of the Property Management department, determining resourcing requirements, defining roles and responsibilities, managing the team’s performance, and ensuring the team’s compliance with Company policies, with regular reporting to Executive Management. A key aspect of the incumbent’s responsibilities will be ensuring the proactive maintenance of all Company properties with their associated plant and equipment, extending the useful life of these assets, through the establishment and execution of preventive maintenance schedules, while also ensuring a timely response to unplanned outages.
Applicants should be a Property Manager with a minimum of seven (7) years’ experience in managing commercial and residential properties, and who possess a Bachelors’ degree in Business Management, Engineering or other related field. A Masters’ degree and/or certification in Facilities Management or Project Management will be an asset.
The successful candidate must be able to build and motivate their team. Capability in interpreting and understanding contracts, deeds and other legal documentation is key, as is creative problem solving skills. Good communication skills, both verbal and written are essential.
