The Role:
Purpose of the job:
Provide leadership and guidance to the Project Teams offshore/onshore in the achievement and delivery of contractual obligations and the performance commitments of projects in terms of safety, operational and financial
1. Communication
Liaise with clients and customers
Promote group services, particularly specialist services and innovations
Develop further business opportunities within and external of his/her business units
Develop and sustain positive business and working relationships with clients and other departments throughout the organization
Result: Ensure relationships are maintained to ensure continuation of business opportunities.
2. Operations
The overall management of assigned projects and contracts
Work scope evaluation including Surveys and Technical Assessments
Assist with developing and implementing work packs, inclusive of Method Statements, Procedures and Risk Assessments
The control of budget and project expenditure
Ensure all work carried out within the contracts is in accordance with company HSEQ procedures
Manage and achieve project obligations, including but not limited to: Budget, Schedule, Quality, Project KPIs and Reporting
Provide technical expertise and advice in relation to projects/contracts;
Other tasks / responsibilities that may be assigned to you from time to time
3. HSEQ
Employees have a duty to take reasonable care of their own health and safety, and the health and safety of anyone who may be affected by their acts or omissions.
The Project Manager are responsible to the Operations Manager for ensuring compliance with the requirements of the Company’s Health and Safety & Environmental policy, within their area(s) of responsibility.
Specifically These Responsibilities are:-
To fully familiarize themselves with the Company’s Safety Policy, and ensure its implementation at their level.
To ensure persons under their control are adequately trained and fully aware of any hazards in their department.
To report, record and investigate all accidents and near misses in their section, and recommend remedial action for implementation.
To ensure employees use or wear all protective clothing and equipment required for particular jobs, and arrange for replacement/s as may be necessary.
To instruct all employees under their control in the recommended safe job procedures pertaining to particular operations.
To enforce all safety rules and regulations as they apply to their area or as directed by management.
To maintain good housekeeping conditions within the work area.
To carry out regular inspections of the work area so as to ensure compliance with the Company’s Health and Safety & Environmental policy.
To identify training needs in respect of Health and Safety & the Environment.
To report to the Manager any unsafe condition, that may affect the Company’s ability to meet the terms of the Contract.
Result: Knowledgeable of the HSEQ Management System and show how the specific job functions relates to the HSEQ Management System.
Education:
Bsc. Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent tertiary level education
Project Management Certification
NACE or Basic Corrosion Certification
Maintenance Planning & Scheduling Certification
Experience:
• Minimum of 5-10 years experience as a Project Manager in the Oil & Gas Industry – Construction & Fabric Maintenance
Minimum of 3-5 years experience with Projects Control
Engineering background would be an asset
Experience Managing/Supervising Client projects in the Oil & Gas Industry
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Including Word, Excel, MS Projects)
Key Attributes:
• Competent with Earned Value Analysis
• Knowledge of Scaffold Systems
• Knowledge of Mechanical (Torque & Tensioning)
• Proficient in Microsoft Office suite (including advanced Excel knowledge)
• Knowledge of NDE Procedures
• Knowledge of Destructive Testing (Pull Testing)
• Basic Commercial Awareness and Cost Control knowledge would be an asset
• Excellent communication and leadership skills
• Works well under pressure
• Team player
