Production Supervisor

JOB SUMMARY

The Production Supervisor reports directly to the Production Team Leader and is responsible for day-to-day production operations. He/She supervises, motivates, and supports the team, applying a team approach and maintaining open communication. The incumbent is responsible for the effective and efficient planning and scheduling of personnel and equipment to reduce production bottlenecks. The incumbent is also accountable for meeting the department production, quality and health & safety goals, as well as playing a key role in meeting the companywide profitability and customer satisfaction goals.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Ensure compliance with quality standards, while maintaining product quality.
  • Adhere to the company’s Health and Safety policy, where necessary and ensure that relevant PPE must be worn.
  • Report and update management on any accident or near miss and follow all the relevant actions to completion.
  • Balance manufacturing orders and review raw materials consumptions.
  • Plan work for assigned Operations crew or crews in a safe manner.
  • Revise all the operations JSA’s.
  • Create requisitions and work orders for operation’s jobs (Requisitions for Maintenance jobs will keep on been the planners responsibility), and follow up with maintenance and purchase on the status.
  • Create and maintain operations SOP’s.
  • Coordinate and follow up Operators training and development.
  • Act as a resource to the operations team when necessary.
  • Lead the daily Powersuite meeting.
  • Facilitate weekly planning meeting to set planner priorities and scheduled work priorities
  • Lead production tasks on maintenance shut downs.
  • Revise and track downtime recording by work centre.
  • Assume leadership role in conducting A3 problem solving sessions for operational and maintenance downtime reduction
  • Track all A3 corrective actions until completion and verify A3 controls are implemented and effective
  • Track and prioritize small improvement project list and coordinate resources with maintenance, project team, and purchasing.
  • Participate in cost reduction programs.
  • Related duties and responsibilities.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND WORK EXPERIENCE

  • Five (5) GCE/CXC subjects inclusive of English language and Mathematics
  • Five (5) years working experience in a related or similar capacity in a Manufacturing environment
  • Formal training in Effective Supervision
  • Knowledge of implementation of process optimization projects
  • Familiar with industrial plant operational processes.
  • Excellent supervisory competencies.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication (verbal and written) skills.
  • Knowledge in the use of the BPCS or any other production related Software.
  • Computer literate. (Word, Power Point, Excel,)
