MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The Primary Care Nurse Manager will report to the County Medical Officer of Health and is responsible for the planning, directing and supervision of the public health nursing activities in the County.  He/She is also required to deliver health talks on public health matters, investigate reports on cases of infectious disease reported and take such action as is deemed necessary.  Work requires the exercise of considerable independent judgment and is performed under the general direction of the County Medical Officer of Health in collaboration with the Manager - Regional Nursing.

MINIMUM TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE

• Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing.
• Diploma of District Health Visitor
• Training as evidenced by the possession of certificates in Midwifery and General Nursing.
• Current Registration with the Nursing Council of Trinidad and Tobago.
• At least fifteen (15) years experience as a District Health Visitor.
• Considerable experience in the field of Public Health Nursing including some experience in a supervisory capacity
• Any equivalent combination of training and experience.
