We invite applications for a new Digicel Opportunity - Pricing and Product Executive
Primary objective of the job:
  • End-to-end ownership and management of the product development lifecycle for assigned product and promotion initiatives from concept through to implementation.
  • Responsible for product design, creating detailed product specifications, developing and managing project plans and developing product documentation.
  • Responsible for developing Digicel FTTH product and pricing strategy and implementing plans in order to develop Digicel's FTTH revenues
  • Monitor market trends and industry developments and proactively recommend price & product enhancement
  • Develop products that are customer focused and relevant.
Number of persons managed/supervised and their positions:

Main Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for requirements gathering from all key stakeholders identified.
  • Responsible for product design, creating detailed product specifications, developing and managing project plans and developing product documentation while adhering to the product development process.
  • Create effective pricing strategies to ensure margin sustainability and assist the Sales team to determine annual and gross-profit plans by forecasting and developing annual sales quotas from pre-determine price structure.
  • Project expected sales volume and profit for products; analyze trends and results; recommend selling prices; monitor costs, competition, supply, and demand
  • Evaluate new concepts and ideas to determine feasibility prior to implementation.
  • Execute the end-to-end product development process including : Drafting concept documents, requirements gathering and documentation, full service description documentation (SDD), , project planning and implementation, product testing, reporting, training, FAQ, T&C, launch and initial post launch review and lessons learnt.
  • Liaise with all stakeholder departments (i.e. functional areas - Technical, IT, Billing, Customer Care, Provisioning, Legal & Regulatory, Marketing, Sales et al) to ensure timely and accurate set-up and documentation of new products and changes to existing products.
  • Work closely with the Business Analyst, Business/Revenue Manager, Finance, Technical/IT and other stakeholders to define product reporting KPI requirements; ensure requirements are submitted to IT by relevant stakeholders and developed; ensure test reports are run successfully prior to launch; ensure accurate, timely product reports for the product or promotion at launch
  • Work closely with Customer Care to define the end-to-end tests cases for product User Acceptance testing (UAT), monitor results, escalate issues to Technical/IT and approve the final successful pre-launch test cases. Also ensure post-cutover testing is successfully completed.
  • Project management and tracking of the status of assigned initiatives i.e. For products enhancements and/or new product developments and/or product decommissioning.
  • Provide progress and status reports to the Manager and Department Head (and SMT where required)
  • Lead cross functional project teams through the implementation and delivery of new products and promotions and/or enhancements to existing products and promotions.
  • Provide inputs into requirements for market research, feasibility studies, and competitive intelligence to inform product development.
  • Keep abreast of evolving markets, market trends, customer needs to inform the development process
  • Obtain product ready sign-offs from the SMT and key stakeholders prior to launch
  • Contribute to the delivery of the P&L revenues for the Products portfolio.
  • Manage the reconciliation and payment process for content vendor invoices.
Academic qualifications and experience required for job:
  • Minimum of a First Degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Management or Project Management
  • 1 to 2 years commercial experience for a telecoms provider working in a product type role.
  • Able to interface well with supporting stakeholders teams, and balance commercial and technical requirements and objectives.
  • Project management experience (qualifications are a plus)

  • Internally - All stakeholder departments required to execute products development tasks (i.e. Technology, IT, Operations, Customer Care, Commercial & Marketing, Sales , Legal & Regulatory, International Business etc) ; Business/Revenue Manager ; Business Analysts, General Staff , Managers, Directors and CEOs of the local office and other business units.
  • Externally - Vendors; Partners; Service and Content providers; Local Agencies; Customers.
Authority: (those task in which there is total control and autonomy in execution - e.g. approve vouchers, sign cheques, delegate task.) state limits where possible.

Key Performance Indicators:
New Product/ Promotion Development:
  • Product Readiness of products/promotions within the appraisal period as per agreed launch dates.
  • Ensure products are fully tested and works as per the specifications
  • Reporting is in place and tests successfully
  • Product is deemed "product ready" when all development activities are complete and signed off by the project team and then subsequently signed off by Directors and Key Stakeholders.
  • Adherence to the Product Development Process
  • Complete end-to-end documentation for all new products and product changes and post to the Products Share Drive.
Project Management
  • Chair regular product development meetings and lead project teams (i.e. daily, weekly, bi-weekly as the project requires)
  • Circulate Meeting Notes & Action Lists within 1-2 days of meeting.
  • Develop GANTT/Task List for product roll out and manage the deliverables in accordance with the agreed product ready dates.
  • Work with the stakeholder team on the development of processes and activities to support the product roll out and manage the deliverables in accordance with the agreed product ready dates.
Revenue/Financial
  • Contribute to meeting Products Business Plan Targets (revenue & subscribers)
  • Verify and submit vendor invoices for payment within 2 days of receipt
