Payroll Officer
JOB SUMMARY:
The incumbent is responsible for the management of payroll processing for all outsources payroll services
SALARY: TT$7,500 - $9,000
MAJOR AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY
- Payroll Processing of Monthly, Fortnightly, Weekly and Hourly paid.
- Compute payroll liabilities ensuring amounts reconcile with figures from Easipay Software.
- Calculate statutory Deductions – PAYE, Health Surcharge and National Insurance Contributions.
- Process cheques payments received from clients for payments of statutory charges – cheque accuracy verification, receipting, and records management. Provide follow-up as necessary with clients on cheque payments.
- Fill out NIS forms for Maternity Leave, Sick Leave and Injury benefits.
- Calculate International Tax – Withholding Tax
- Calculate payments to Expatriates
- Reconcile Payroll Ledger Accounts
- Provide information verification and reporting, inclusive of liaison with clients, statutory agencies as required, for transaction processing.
- Assist with upkeep of on line and hardcopy data files including procedure changes, sorting, lodging and retrieving of file information.
- Assist other personnel in providing responses to client inquiries and other client related information.
- Assist with other duties as required from time to time
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Accounting Degree, ACCA Level 1 or CAT/FIA Completion
- Two (2) years of increasingly responsible related experience, or an acceptable
Combination of academic qualification and work experience may be considered in lieu of minimum requirements.
- Knowledge of accounting software packages (Peachtree latest edition).
- Ability to process large payrolls.
- Good working knowledge in MS Office
