PROGRAM COORDINATOR
Guyana Power and Light Inc. is embarking on a major infrastructure investment and corporate development Program to further develop and enhance its capacity to meet the significant growth in demand for electricity over the coming years with the support of the Inter-American Development Bank – European Union (IDB-EU). The Program will be supported by a Program Coordination Unit (PCU), based in GPL Inc. and under the direction of the Chief Executive Officer.
The PCU will be headed by a Program Coordinator and will include a Procurement Specialist, a Finance Comptroller, a Loss Reduction Specialist, a Network Design Specialist and an Information Technology Specialist. The PCU will be responsible, inter alia, for the supervision and technical execution of the Program, the hiring of consulting services, managing and reviewing of contracts, reviewing outputs, processing of payments and the timely preparation of progress reports.

The Programme Coordinator will be reporting to the Chief Executive Officer and the Project Steering Committee and will be responsible for the overall implementation of the Program and for coordination with all relevant stakeholders.
Qualifications and Experience
program/project management, analysis and design
project implementation, monitoring, evaluation and reporting
experience working in the public sector on issues such as energy utility management, renewable energy, rural electrification team leadership
knowledge of and experience in projects funded by multilateral institutions
familiarity with the electricity sector in Guyana is desirable
Salary and Benefits
Salary and Benefits will be commensurate with qualifications and experience and will be negotiated during Contracting period.

DURATION: The duration of the Program will be five (5) years. The Coordinator will be appointed for one (1) year in the first instance and renewable for up to four (4) additional years.
