PROCESS ENGINEER

 

This position will be primarily responsible for applying fundamental engineering knowledge and technologies to support the design of and pilot the manufacturing process to increase productivity and achieve maximum efficiency and safety. 

 

 Duties and Responsibilities

  • Utilize engineering principles to provide production operations support with hands on troubleshooting and development. 
  • Develops manufacturing processes by studying product requirements; researching, designing, modifying, and testing manufacturing methods and equipment; conferring with vendors.
  • Assures product and process quality by designing testing methods; testing finished- product and process capabilities; establishing standards; confirming manufacturing processes.
  • Design new systems and processes for the introduction of new products or for the improvement of existing ones
  • Define processes and controls necessary including automation
  • Improve process control and product quality
  • Maximize operational effectiveness; i.e. bottleneck analysis, set-up time reduction.
  • Provides manufacturing decision-making information by calculating production, labor, and material costs; reviewing production schedules; estimating future requirements.
  • Prepares product and process reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
  • Provides manufacturing engineering information by answering questions and requests.
  • Maintains product and company reputation by complying with government regulations.
  • Supervising technicians and sub-contractors and ensuring effective communication in order to avoid errors
  • Creates drawings and renderings of new products using the most logical and cost effective construction and manufacturing methods
  • Other relevant duties as necessary

 

Qualifications and Experience Required

Any combination of experience and qualifications will be considered but the minimum requirements are:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, (Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Materials)
  • Minimum of three years experience with general process, manufacturing, industrial, and quality engineering
  • Good problem solving skills with a drive for results
  • Good communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Hands-on technical skills including: proficiency in 3D CAD software (Inventor & AutoCAD)
  • Proficient in computer software products, i.e. Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, Inventor, and Microsoft Outlook
  • Familiarity with Good Manufacturing Practices is a plus.
