Primary objective of the job:
The objective of this position is to manage the rollout and operational ownership of a national Fibre to the Home network.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
- Managing and overseeing all aspects of a FTTH network including but not limited to:
- Design
- Planning
- Implementation
- Coordination
- Acceptance testing
- Quality testing
- Responsible for the FTTH OSP Team who build and operate the fiber optic networks
- Documentation of all aspects of designs and Fiber Management including GIS/CAD tools and data sets
- Provide Backbone support
- Provide training and knowledge sharing with other engineers
- Develop the OSP team to support a network rollout and operational ownership of FTTH footprint
- Supervise vendors and contractors with a keen eye towards Quality required
- Provide support to the other operational teams in the market
- To ensure that the quality of Fibre network as defined and communicated across the Group is implemented.
- Hire and develop a best in class Fibre engineering team
- Manage the team to clear Quality focused KPI's
Academic qualifications and experience required for job:
- A Degree in Construction Engineering or equivalent.
- At least 5 years' experience in the rollout of Fibre networks.
- Proven experience in the implementation of fibre backhaul and access fibre services a must.
- Very good understanding of OSP Fiber access networks from Operator's point of view
- In depth knowledge of FTTx solutions and architecture, GPON
- Experience with network planning/design for access networks
- Experience with access networks civil works planning / design
- Knowledgeable about various CPE / ONT and service delivery aspects
- Hands-on Experience with GIS/CAD tools
- Experienced in working with sub-contractors, design reviews, quality control and approvals
- Years of Experience Required: At least 2 years' experience on FTTx design and total 5 years of experience
Functional Skills:
- Supervision of Design and Rollout of best in class FTTH Fibre networks.
- Strong Vendor Management experience, including contractual, project, operational and technical management.
- Proven experience in budget management.
- Excellent communication skills to internal and external stakeholders. Demonstrated leadership and management skills including:
- Capacity to work under sustained pressure
- Ability to deal with uncertain environments
- Ability to set goals, develop plans and objectives and deliver results
- Demonstrated capacity to build productive working relationships
- Well-developed analytical and conceptual skills.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills and well developed interpersonal and representative skills.
