OPERATIONS MANAGER
DEPARTMENT: Operations
REPORTS TO (TITLE): CEO/General Manager
Primary objective of the job:
o To ensure that all contracts entered into by the company for fabrication, installation and maintenance of static and digital signage, including customer related job sheets signed off by the Sales Department, are executed within budget and to the standard of finish required by the company.
o To supervise the execution and ensure the Company’s successful expansion into the digital Out of Home (DOOH) advertising business
o To ensure that the manpower and material resources available to the Operations Department are adequate to achieve the company’s Business Plan
o To maintain the Company’s reputation for quality of workmanship and standards of safety in the fabrication and maintenance of publically accessible structures.
o To ensure that the Operations Department adheres to Health and Safety regulations on and off the company’s premises
Number of persons managed/supervised and their positions:
• 3 Direct Reports
• Scheduling Manager
• Technical support manager
• Technical Support supervisor
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
The following are specific responsibilities and contributions critical to the successful performance of the position:
Manage, monitor and evaluate work-flow and reporting within operations, set up of procedure to prioritize and control the flow of work
• Manage communication relating to the execution of jobs with Sales and Finance and with Business Partners.
• Investigate, report all operational issues and recommend/implement resolution of critical concerns.
• Assumes ‘ownership’ of NOA’s site portfolio & takes pride in work completed and pays close attention to details seeking ways to improve and promote quality.
Manage the Outdoor portfolio: Structural integrity & Condition
• Ensure that our OOH medium is defended to ensure that structural integrity is maintained. Personally monitor the Company’s outdoor assets to spot-check their condition.
Provide input into Budget exercise and Costing
• Investigate and cost ways to Improve productivity in areas of fabrication and installation to give the company competitive advantage and put these forward to management for approval.
• Implement and oversee cost control measures to strengthen Gross Profit and Contribution.
• Implement and monitor the annual and medium term operational plans, program and projects to meet overall objectives and agreed timings. Overseeing variances, including the measurement of budget success to actual performance, and annual draft budgets for respective facility. Provide monthly management reports on productivity and costs.
Manage Staffing & Performance
• Carry out staff assessments on a regular basis and take disciplinary action as required within Company guidelines.
• Responsible for the counseling process by monitoring employee attendance, productivity, and other performance markers and by generating counseling forms and counseling employees, as needed.
Facilities & Safety Management
• Responsible for facility management to include coordination of maintenance, grounds keeping, painting (touch-up), carpet cleaning, garage, and overall facility cleanliness.
• Ensure safety standards are maintained & property is secured.
Provide reporting as required
• Monthly – Cost analysis
• Monthly – Manpower utilization
• Monthly – Vehicle tracking & maintenance
• Other reporting as is required
Academic qualifications and experience required for job:
• Technical qualification preferably CIS trained with electrical background
• At least 4 years Management experience in Build Environment, Project Management or Information Systems
Functional Skills:
• Technical skills in Computer Repairs or Sign Fabrication
• Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task
• Excellent communication skills (oral, listening and written)
• Excellent analytical, technical, problem solving and decision making skills
• Demonstrated ability to develop and motivate staff
