The Operations Manager – Distribution Division directs the efficient and cost-effective operation of the commercial and/or industrial distributions center(s) or warehousing facilities. Manages inbound activities related to the receipt and storage of goods, inventory management, and claims. The incumbent will oversee outbound activities related to order-filling, stock replenishment, delivery to domestic customers and shipping. The Operations Manager - Distribution Division is responsible for budgeting, customer service, facility, and equipment operation. The position administers overall inventory management, productivity, and accuracy and loss prevention programs so as to ensure that customer requirements are met. |
- To direct and coordinate the activities of the departments in the Distribution division, namely; Production, Warehouse, Distribution, Billing, and Facilities, to obtain optimum efficiency and economy of operations in order to maximize shareholder value.
- To analyze performance data so as to ensure improvements in productivity and to determine areas of efficiency improvement and value creation.
- To establish and implement departmental policies, goals, objectives, and procedures, conferring with the Chief Operations Officer, the Human Resource Department, the Senior Management Team and staff members as necessary.
- To plan and implement Divisional goals and objectives through Division personnel.
- To confer with other internal departments, and review activity, operating, and sales reports to determine changes in programs or operations required.
- To collaborate with the Human Resource Department to interview, hire and train new employees, or oversee personnel processes.
- To achieve the operational objectives of the Division by providing information and recommendations to strategic plans and reviews; preparing and completing action plans; implementing production, productivity, quality, and customer-service standards; resolving problems; completing audits; identifying trends.
- To meet the Division’s financial objectives by forecasting; preparing an annual budget; scheduling expenditures; analyzing variances and by initiating corrective actions.
- To develop the Division’s operations systems by determining product handling and storage requirements; developing, implementing, enforcing, and evaluating policies and procedures; developing processes for receiving product, equipment utilization, inventory management, delivery, and shipping.
- To develop warehouse design layout, product flow, and product handling systems; evaluating and recommending new equipment.
- To develop the Division’s operations system improvements by analyzing process work flow, manning and space requirements, and equipment layout and implementing changes.
- To maintain a safe and healthy work environment by establishing, following and enforcing standards and procedures and by ensuring compliance with legal regulations.
- To secure all warehouses by developing protection and access policies and procedures and by coordinating patrols with security department.
- To accomplish the Division’s operations and organization mission by completing related tasks as needed.
- To provide timely, accurate and analytic reports on the operations of the division to Direct Report.
- To collaborate with the Senior Management Team to develop and implement strategic and operating plans for the division.
