Massy Communications is looking for a dynamic individual to accept the role of Network Field Technician. The Network Field Technician provides technical support to customers.

Massy Communications is looking for a dynamic individual to accept the role of Network Field Technician. The Network Field Technician provides technical support to customers primarily in the form of on-site work for installations, repairs, upgrades, troubleshooting and maintenance in collaboration with senior engineering staff members and the NOC to resolve customer affecting technical issues in a timely fashion to maintain maximum customer satisfaction.  

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provides technical support to customers regarding networks systems and services
  • Coordinates, travels to and performs on-site customer work including installations, repairs, upgrades, troubleshooting and maintenance
  • Resolves first-level and some second-level customer problems and answers questions
  • Escalate technical issues, including installation and/or maintenance problems, as necessary
  • Serves as liaison between the company and customers.  Conveys customer feedback to technical design and engineering staff
  • Assists with problem resolution as required by working closely with the engineering team
  • Create installation and troubleshooting documentation
  • Travel as required for training and/or work assignments
REQUIREMENTS:
  • BSc Information Technology or equivalent
  • Minimum of 18 months experience with networking, computer hardware and/or TCP/IP routing/configuration
  • Comptia Network + or A+ certification or equivalent job knowledge required
  • Cisco Certified Network Administrator (CCNA) is a plus
  • Must possess strong computer skills and demonstrate proficiency and experience utilizing Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook software including familiarity with other Windows based software and the Internet
  • Must possess excellent customer service skills
  • Experience in Information Technology, Master Control, Programming, Call Center Customer Service, or Technical Support preferred; comparable knowledge acquired through certificate or degree program may be acceptable in place of work experience
  • Must possess strong communication skills
  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills to analyze facts and data to accurately define problems during troubleshooting of major NOC issues
  • Must be able to work quickly and efficiently in time sensitive, high pressure situations
