| National Quarries Company Limited is a state-owned company set up by the Government of Trinidad & Tobago in February 1979. The main objective at the time, was the rationalization of the supply of aggregate to the construction sector at the lowest possible economic price to facilitate the major development projects either in the progress or earmarked for start up. The Company throughout its existence has successfully delivered on its mandate by maintaining price, quality of product and stability of supply. In 1998, the company undertook a comprehensive review of its operations and emerged with a new strategic direction informed by a commercial and profit oriented focus. This new strategic approach has already begun to achieve results as evidenced by an impressive turnaround in operational and functional fortunes. In preparing for the challenges of the new millennium, National Quarries Company Limited has adopted a strategic vision of being the leader in the production and supply of aggregate both locally and regionally. Towards this end, the company is vigorously pursuing a number of strategic initiatives, which focus on profitability and competitiveness. |
