ROLE REPORTS TO: Network Quality Manager

JOB SUMMARY

The Network Quality Engineer will be responsible for overseeing the daily maintenance and operation of the OSS\ENIQ platform and third party systems used to produce dashboards and reports used in statistical analysis and performance reporting across the technical department. The Network Quality Engineer works closely with the equipment suppliers in the planning, design, and engineering of the mobile network to ensure support for growth of the subscriber base, offered services and any other quality related directives.
MAIN RESPONSIBILTIES
  • Upgrades: Manages and schedules all software and hardware corrections and upgrades.
  • Alarming: Ensures that all alarms are collected from the various network elements and forwarded to the Network Management System with little or no delay.
  • Statistics: Ensures that all relevant counters are activated on the respective service nodes (APGs etc) and are being collected and aggregated on a regular basis.
  • Administration: Integration of nodes, Administration of OSS accounts, follow up on existing problems and CSRs, Business Objects reporting and report creation/manipulation, etc. and dashboard creation
  • Network Quality Analysis: Capacity planning and monitoring to ensure infrastructure supports network growth and provisioning of all services.
  • Dimensioning: Dimensioning and monitoring of signaling, voice and data traffic
  • Modeling: Using modeling techniques to project network growth and respective present/future limitations. Maintain long-term trend analysis of traffic, network performance etc
  • Performance Reporting: Prepare network performance reports on established KPIs at set periods
  • Support: Provide network support to other areas where needed. Contribute to technical reviews and design.
  • Network Faults: Assist in investigations related to faults within the network
  • Analysis: Assist in analysis of traffic changes and revenue streams

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS/ SKILLS

  • BSc. Degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or Applied Physics or equivalent
  • Experience GSM/3G network Planning and Optimization would be an asset
  • Experience in data analytics
  • Experience in Unix and SQL
  • Experience in network modeling and forecasting
  • A minimum of 2 -3 years' experience in a telecommunications networking environment
  • An acceptable combination of academic qualifications and work experience may be considered in lieu of minimum requirements.
