Motor Vehicle Manager
The Manager - Motor Vehicle Department must ensure that all motor vehicle activities are planned and executed within the parameters of productivity and safety and KWL’s management and customer requirements.
The responsible party is required to set and communicate planned targets for each category of direct reports and must consistently monitor the performance of his direct team and ensure that set Department’s KPIs are maintained. He/she is also required to do timely periodical review of departments objectives and take corrective action where required, to ensure performance targets are achieved.
The position requires sound knowledge the Microsoft Suite of products and working knowledge of Tide Works TOS. He/she is to ensure that yard integrity is maintained and that any unauthorized divergence from planned operations relative to motor vehicle activities are timely addressed.
The incumbent is required to ensure that good working relationships are maintained among staff and that at all times positive attitudes are displayed. He must also ensure that the team completes all planned activities regarding vessel operations in accordance with Terminal KPIs so as to ensure maximum productivity targets are achieved.
He/she is to ensure that continuous work is maintained by implementation and strict management of all vessel, yard and domestic delivery activities, and that safety briefings are conducted by MVD Teams for all planned activities.
The incumbent must ensure that all operations checklists are continuously updated to prevent errors, and to ensure related incidents areas are investigated and aired to prevent repeat occurrences. He/she is required to monitor and maintain adherence to KWL’s safety policies and guidelines and is to ensure that the team leaders conduct daily pre-shift safety briefings.
In carrying out the function there must be full compliance with all safety and security procedures and Port regulations as stipulated by the International Maritime Organization (IMO).
