The Marketing Officer assists in the development of the marketing concepts, initiatives, events and activations based on an overarching strategy.

Marketing Officer (MO)

The Marketing Officer develops and advises the Portfolio Management Lead (PML) on brand, marketing and public relations initiatives. The MO assists in the development of the marketing concepts, initiatives, events and activations based on an overarching strategy. The MO assists the Portfolio Management Lead in the creation and monitoring of the marketing portfolio and procedures. The role works under the direction and guidance of the Portfolio Management Lead to roll-out marketing projects, ensuring that the activities are consistently in alignment with the overall procedures and guidelines of the organisation.

Research and Analysis

Understanding Markets

  1. Identifies information requirements and manages research projects.
  2. Manages the data collection process by collecting, analysing and summarising marketing data.
  3. Interprets, evaluates and presents information by preparing marketing reports for business advantage, based on derived research.

Strategy and Planning

Developing Strategy and Marketing plans

  1. Contributes information and ideas to strategy process
  2. Creates and rolls out competitive marketing operational plans, objectives and budgets, based on the strategy.

Marketing Portfolio Management

Communicating with Stakeholders

  1. Creates effective IMC (Integrated Marketing Communications) plans.
  2. Coordinates communications activities.

Managing Client Relationships (B2B)

  1. Coordinates the production of client-oriented infrastructure and information.
  2. Manages and monitors provision of effective client service.

Programme and Project Management

  1. Plans marketing projects by identifying, assembling, and coordinating requirements, establishing contacts, assignments and resources, updating marketing calendars, coordinating stakeholder lists, and maintaining databases.
  2. Monitoring and controlling marketing budgets and schedules.  
  3. Manages and reports on delivery of projects against plan and objectives

Brands

Creating an Effective Brand

  1. Assists PML in promotion of an organisation wide culture around the Brand values.
  2. Delivers Marketing projects that are at the standard of the organisation’s brand statement.

Marketing Performance Management and Measuring Effectiveness

Measuring the effectiveness of marketing

  1. Evaluates activities and identifies improvements using measurement KPIs.
  2. Monitors and reports on project activities.
  3. Approaches all marketing activity from a metrics driven perspective.
  4. Maintains relationships with other functions and disciplines within the organisation.
  5. Exemplifies and bears the flag of the organisational culture.
  6. Evaluates ethical codes to ensure marketing activities are compliant and monitor stakeholder relations.
  7. Explores and assesses scenarios for the organisation in relation to stakeholders and develop CSR objectives.
  8. Ensures that all projects are compliant and monitors stakeholder relations.
