Marketing Officer - Communications

The Marketing Officer will be responsible for establishing and implementing strategies that contribute to the overall marketing communications objectives to enhance broker communications, increase customer retention, increase revenue and profitability for the Company.
Key Responsibilities:
Broker Communication
§ Develop and implement a broker marketing communication strategy which supports the Company’s sales and marketing strategy to enhance the profile and influence of the Company in Trinidad and Tobago.
§ Measure and monitor the overall effectiveness of the Company’s broker communications.
§ Monitor and measure the effectiveness of different communications channels/campaigns.
§ Liaise regularly with brokers and internal stakeholders to understand and manage brand perceptions to build a positive image.
§ Develop sales and marketing communication campaigns to drive sales, broker behaviour and increase sales, retention and profitability.
§ Ensure that the Company’s key business messages are consistently communicated by all broker-focused employees, especially as relates to new product launches and product updates.
Marketing Communications Support:
§ Create and implement innovative internal and external integrated marketing and communication programs utilizing a variety of media (e.g. brochures, web content, internal emails and advertising to all internal and external audiences, other print media).
§ Ensure (a) consistent projection of the Company’s brand identity across all broker marketing activities, online as well as offline.
§ Develop and execute marketing communications pilots/tests which quantify results and increase effectiveness of sales marketing efforts.
§ Collaborate and provide marketing communications support to key internal customers including other Marketing Department team members, Business Development, Claims and Underwriting heads and any other staff as required.
§ Develop internal and external communication pieces both for print (includes direct mail) and online.
§ Collaborate with other Marketing Staff, Claims, Underwriting, Business Development to develop an annual marketing
communications calendar (internal and external activities).
§ Design materials such as manuals, circulars, as well as assist in facilitating training sessions with the Marketing Manager/Business Development Manager.
§ Create marketing briefs and direct the activities of advertising agencies.
§ Create an annual marketing and communications plan and for new products as required.
§ Work closely with Operations Department and Business Development Units to ensure that all communications and tools are consistent with the Company brand standards.
§ Manage advertising marketing communications budget.
§ Establish and evaluate metrics and performance benchmarks for marketing communications programs.
Internet, Events, Social Media
§ Develop social media and communication refresh strategies for the company’s website and Facebook page to ensure alignment with brand.
§ Develop and direct activities surrounding corporate events/meetings to facilitate project management and ensure consistency of message.
§ Manage agencies, website houses and third party suppliers.
§ Develop and ensure the timely and accurate implementation of all Social Media projects and any production problems are identified and resolved by the appropriate departments.
§ Manage and write content for the company’s website and intranet.
Education, Qualifications, Experience & Skills/Abilities:
§ Must possess a First Degree in Marketing, Communications or Business Management.
§ Experience in the Financial Services Industry would be an asset.
§ Three (3) to four (4) years experience in a similar position.
§ Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with senior managers and key brokers.
§ Must have strong project management skills.
§ Excellent written and oral communication skills.
§ Excellent time management and project management skills.
§ High level of PC literacy (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Photoshop, Adobe, Publisher, Illustrator).
§ Good understanding of web-based publishing and promotion.
§ Excellent attention to detail.
§ A self-starter with evidence of a proactive approach.
§ Strong relationship building skills.
§ Demonstrated ability to deliver high quality results under tight timelines.
§ Must be able to effectively manage several projects concurrently and with high impact energy.
§ Must demonstrate strong ethics, and possess the ability to influence and negotiate.
§ Must be able to confidently communicate and influence the Management Team as required.
§ Must be experienced in developing and making presentations, communications and multimedia content.
§ Responsibilities may require evening or weekend work in support of the needs of the Customer & Marketing Department.
