The Market Development Manager is responsible for managing existing customers and developing / generating new business opportunities to increase sales and marketing penetration of Alcoholic & Non-Alcoholic drinks.

Department – International sales & Marketing

The Market Development Manager is responsible for managing existing customers and developing / generating new business opportunities to increase sales and marketing penetration of Alcoholic & Non-Alcoholic drinks. He/she is directly responsible for the commercial development of the international portfolio within assigned markets and will work with the
distributors to generate and implement market and brand plans as per agreed targets.

Key Responsibilities


  • Manage assign markets, business proposals and resources as per budget.

  • Set commercial targets and operational deadlines to achieve agreed new business initiatives as set out in the Annual Brand Marketing Strategies.

  • Monitor Customer Purchase orders as per budget and manages the order fulfilment process to ensure that orders are delivered,payment received and sales plans are attained. Establish consistent communication with customer which includes meetings, tele-cons and in writing.

  • Monitor close working relationship with distributor / agencies to monitor and report on sales trends, market depletions and marketing trends with all relevant stakeholders in the market.

  • Analyse competitive market data and activities –identifying trends, insights and overall contribution income.

  • Co-ordinates market pack / product launches, trade shows and events. Recruits event coordinators as needed. Manages communications at market level.

  • Prepares LE and forecasts as needed. Reports on progress as needed – monthly and quarterly reviews; annual business plans

  • Manages, tracks and controls levels of marketing spend assigned to customers ensuring that expenses are within budget. Able to monitor both under and over spending to ensure accruals are as planned.

  • Consistently track and report results / impact of business development initiatives.

  • Performs all other dues s assigned from time to time in keeping with the company’s policies.

 

Required  Qualifications.


  • Bachelors degree in Business Administration ,
    marketing or similar

  • Qualification in Project Management will be
    considered an asset.

  • Fluency in Spanish

Required Knowledge /
skills / abilities


  • 3 – 5 years working experience within a similar role in sales or marketing environment for FMCG’s.

  • Previous experience working with regional /export markets and /or knowledge of the alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverage industry will be considered an asset.

  • Ability to travel frequently on business assignments.

  • Self-motivated, capable of working under pressure and meeting tight deadlines with minimum supervision.

  • Success driven, results-oriented and willing to take risks.

  • Sound Financial and Accounting skills.

  • Ability to work in teams in a manner that creates cohesion and focus.

  • Confident in own ability to convince others to consider their point of view.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Ability to adapt and respond adequately to exigencies of the position.
