Marine Operations Underwriter

The Marine Operations Underwriter is expected to provide assistance with quotes and manage receivables for the Business Development Underwriters in the Brokers Unit.

Key Accountabilities

 Business development/revenue generation

•  To maintain the book of business under your purview by ensuring policies are renewed through continuous communication with the Broker Unit.
• To provide and Bind Coverage for quotations provided and accept New Business for Marine Cargo and Marine Hull in keeping with The Beacon’s guidelines and provided Limits of Authority.

 Internal Operations

• To ensure the accuracy and efficiency of all entries made on The Beacon’s core operating system, LANSA.
• To process pre-numbered certificates as required for the Web Link Program
• To import Marine Certificates on web link
• To continuously support Broker Unit by assisting them with queries from customers.
• To continuously ensure compliance with all of The Beacon’s guidelines, manuals and corporate policies.
• To assist the Broker Unit in preparing Monthly reports on business written and overall performance of the book of business under your purview.
• To control incoming and outgoing correspondences relating to the book of business under your purview.

 Customer Service and Satisfaction

•  To develop business opportunities through building of relationships, and the marketing of The Beacon’s Products
• To assist the Broker Unit where queries arise from Broker customers concerning their accounts.
