JOB TITLE: Manager Technology Strategy
Primary objective of the job:
In line with the overall strategy of the Company, formulate Technology Strategy for the Digicel Group across all markets and technologies, from Fixed (FTTH), Wireless (3G, LTE, FWA), Broadband to Media and covering from devices and terminals, to Network Infrastructure, Core and IP Networks to OSS systems and the IT systems that support the business.
Working closely with the Head of Technology Strategy and a small team of specialists to deliver and assist delivery of the technology strategy.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:
Technology Strategy
* Through contact with vendors, operators and industry fora and standards bodies maintain awareness of the latest developments in relevant technologies
* Build relationships with existing and new vendors
* Prepare strategies and briefing papers to present to the business i.e. commercial, Digicel opcos, senior management team etc.
* Develop and manage several key areas of the overall technology roadmap
Technology Plan
* Gather inputs from Markets and other departments to support the production and approval of the company 1 year and 3-5 year CAPEX Plans.
* Ensure the CAPEX plans are aligned with 1yr and 3-5yr operational plans
Support Business Development
* Engage with the business to understand requirements and communicate benefits of proposed technologies.
* Support preparation of high level business cases for strategic technology deployments - e.g. TD-LTE, WiFi Offload, BSS/OSS systems, SDN/NFV etc.
* Support M&A activities, technical due diligence, assessment of technology proposals etc.
Spectrum and Regulation
* Maintain an awareness of key regulatory developments related to Digicel operations in all 32 markets.
* Support development of Digicel's technology strategy for radio spectrum by understanding the requirements and demand from markets, availability from regulatory perspective and future developments from an industry and standards perspective.
Academic qualifications and experience required for job:
* Master's degree in Electrical or Telecommunications Engineering with 5 years' experience in Telecommunications
OR
* Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Telecommunications Engineering with 8 years' experience in Telecommunications
AND
At least 2 years of management experience at a senior level
Functional Skills:
* Detailed/Expert knowledge of 1 or more relevant technologies and good awareness and appreciation across all areas of technology
