Manager, Primary care nursing

The postholder will be an experienced nurse, responsible for the clinical and leadership roles within the team.  They would have continuing management responsibility for the Primary Care Nursing team. The nursing team will be providing care in a range of settings including patient’s homes, care homes, health centres, and general practices.  The postholder will be professionally accountable for the appropriate delegation of patient care to nurses and AP’S nursing support staff within the team, supervision of their work, ensuring effective assessment, care planning, implementation and evaluation of care that meets professional and clinical standards/guidelines at all times. 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

• Comprehensive knowledge of current trends, principles and practices, methods and techniques in Health Services Administration and Patient Care Management.
• Current knowledge of issues in healthcare management, regulation and legislation
• Knowledge of quality improvement strategies and standard setting systems
• Superior analytical and problem solving abilities to analyze and interpret complicated, highly technical information and utilize the knowledge to develop, present and implement a detailed work plan to address complex issue

CREDENTIALS AND EXPERIENCE 

• BSc Degree in Nursing or Health Management/Administration or related field, from an accredited educational institution
• Master’s Degree in Nursing or Health Management/Administration or related field, from an accredited educational institution would be an asset
• A minimum of seven (7) years administrative experience with increasing scope of responsibility in a similar or related job function.
• Experience in developing, leading and monitoring successful complex projects that involved multidisciplinary teams.
• Current registration with the Nursing Council of Trinidad and Tobago
• Diploma in Health Visiting Certification
