Manager- - Human Resources

Our client, a well-established Financial Institution, is seeking to fill the position of Manager - Human Resources. The individual would be responsible for contributing to the strategic development of the Company by implementing effective talent management measures to attract, motivate, develop and retain the most qualified employees and to provide highly confidential, effective management of the Company’s human resources through the enforcement of the Company’s human resource policies and procedures. 

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be required to do the following:

  • Manage the recruitment and selection process ensuring that the Company attracts and retains the right calibre of staff
  • Manage the performance development process ensuring employees possess and/or acquire the requisite skills and knowledge to effectively and efficiently execute their respective functions
  • Develop and maintain succession planning arrangements to ensure business continuity
  • Ensure comprehensive roll-out and effective implementation of all Human Resource Policies and Procedures
  • Administer pay, benefits and incentives programmes in accordance with the Company’s compensation policy
  • Administer annual employee engagement survey to monitor the Company’s service delivery levels and forward recommendations to the Board of Directors
  • Contribute to the Company’s overall strategic planning and budgeting process
  • Maintain and safeguard the Company’s personnel files and database
  • Represent the Company’s interest in industrial matters
  • Act as an interlocutor between the Company and external organizations such as but not limited to Unions, Employer’s Federation, Governmental and Non-Governmental Organizations

Qualifications & Skills Required

The ideal candidate must possess the following:

  • Bachelor’s degree and an MBA in Human Resources or equivalent qualification
  • Minimum eight (8) years progressive experience in Human Resources
  • Human Resources certification from a recognized professional affiliation (preferably SHRM)
  • A working knowledge of the Antigua and Barbuda Labour Code will be an asset
  • Previous experience in industrial relations and labour relations is required
  • Excellent negotiation skills
  • Excellent communication and analytical skills
  • Full proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office
