We are part of the Siteserv Group of companies which also includes, Roankabin, DSL and Eventserve. We employ just fewer than 4,000 professional and technical staff globally. Our Sierra arm is currently partnering with Digicel to design and build fibre telecommunications networks throughout the Caribbean islands. This is a massive project and we have already employed over 240 expatriate staff as well as a huge number of local direct and indirect staff.
About the role:
To deliver and maintain service for our clients GPON products within our Telecommunication Division in Trinidad by diagnosing faults, and replacing distribution cable
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist in the maintenance of overhead and underground GPON products to a standard set out by the client
- Work to achieve Key Performance Indicators (KPI's) set out by both the Client and Sierra
- Positively promote the clients brand, through on-site performance
- Liaise with the Maintenance Team Supervisor to ensure that on-site health and safety requirements or issues are communicated in a timely manner
- Be able to complete following tasks: New Cable Installs, Pole Transfers, Strand Building, Cable Hanging, Lashing, Make Readies, and Figure Eighting.
- Install and repair Fibre Optic cable in a variety of environments.
- Record and document testing per customer specifications.
- Experience and knowledge using a Fibre Optic Scope and or a Fibre OTDR.
- Further industry knowledge on an ongoing basis.
- Uphold quality workmanship surpassing industry standards
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Able to read prints and other engineering documentation.
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem solving skills.
- Fibre Optic construction, maintenance and testing experience.
- Mechanically inclined and detail oriented.
- Must have valid Driver's License
- Experienced in Bucket Truck Operation.
- Be able to complete following tasks: New Cable Installs, Pole Transfers, Strand Building, Cable Hanging, Lashing, Make Readies, and Figure Eighting.
- Be of outstanding good character - references required
- Must be target driven to deliver on KPI's set by the client
- Must be able to understand company health and safety policies and adhere to same at all times
